So I was browsing the ol' internet recently, and came across this story:
http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/megallection/original-transformers-boxed-collection-sold-for-1000000-279598.php
Note this bit in particular: 'Apparently, US law says "it is illegal for any business or individual to import or sell the MP-05 Megatron as it does not display a blaze orange safety tip on the end of the barrel," so she's giving them away to the buyer.'
Is this really the case? Have I managed to be
that out of the loop? Anybody else heard about this?

Dumbest thing I ever seen in my life. Can't believe someone was that stupid to pay that.
However, yeah its not exactly legal to sell without a tip. They put an orange tip that you can just pull right out.

The thing about Megatron isn't that suprising. What shocks me is that someone payed a million dollars for it all. Some people don't make that much in a lifetime.

Actually, most people do, they just don't have it all at once. If you average about $22,000 per year and work from 18-65, that's pretty much $1,000,000 right there.

Time to be a devil's advocate to the Devil's advocate.
So, then, how many people in their lifetimes are able to PAY $1,000,000 at once? Not many.

Oh God, I would love to know this person actually pays up. I mean it would be a negitive feedback, but hell, I'd do it just because she wants $1 Million dollars for a $7,000-$9,000 collection .

Buyers don't necessarily have to be an individual, several toy collectors or even store owners could pool their resources to buy the collection then split them up amongst themselves.
