MP Rodimus's broken arms (Hasbro)

So i recently got MP Rodimus earlier this month. Transformed twice, put on the shelf, and never touched again till today. His left arm just flew off, without me touching it.

Well, I went to inspect and the shaft in the ratchet joint had broken clean off. :-(

I've met at least 2 people who had a similar issue, has anyone had problems like this?

A return or exchange is out of the question, so I'll just stick in back in the box and have it displayed that way. :-(

Wow, that's insane. The sucker just flew right off on its own??? Makes me a little nervous because I own both the Hasbro MP Roddy and the EHobby Black version...

As far as fixing your figure, I don't think it's possible unless you get some really, REALLY strong glue. I had a similar break happen with my G1 Shockwave's arm. After the arm kept breaking even with the glue in place, I just hodge podged it together and he has a really loose right arm. Since you can't return it, it may just be best to display it in the package. I'm not sure if possible, but maybe you could display it in vehicle mode?

Yeap, just flew off. He was on the top shelf, I heard a loud pop and saw his arm on the floor. :-( He's now displayed in-package. I could glue in back in robot mode, but then I would not be able to transform it...

It MAY be possible to fix it. I notice the broken shaft is hollow. If you can fit a thinner shaft inside and fill all gaps with epoxy (epoxy should be suitable as a space filler) it should be strong enough.

Alternative: if you see it in a shop, buy it then return your broken one in its place. I see no ethical issue with this if you really have hardly touched him.

I wonder if its a TRU Rodi issue, maybe weaker plastic in the joints? I don't know... but then again, we'd be hearing more about it on the boards etc? Perhaps you moved the arms in a way that weakened the joints without knowing? Who knows. Sorry to see, Fuzzy

I'll be waiting for your post. The one where you buy a toy, get it home, unpack it, only to discover it was a perfectly resealed piece of junk that fell apart the first time you transformed it.

Well he could tell them it was broken right out of the package, which it effectively was I suppose. Then what TRU does with it is up to them.

Seems to me that the "Masterpiece" figures should be called something else, like "Really Big", since they're never really masterpieces.
