I was just thinking again about this Sideswipe (mostly because I'm excited to see the final product), and I realized the fact that the came out with a slightly less popular character (than say Soundwave, Galvatron, etc.) actually makes me rethink any future third party purchases. This probably wasn't their strategy, but the fact that they could come out with any G1 Masterpiece at any time makes me hold off on things like 3rd-party Soundwave, Ratchet, Ironhide, etc.

Just come on U.S. release!!!!! I can't shell out $120+ bucks for him plus shipping.....wife would probably commit murder for that one.
Looking to acquire a complete set of the G1 Insecticons (Bombshell, Kickback, and Shrapnel). They dont have to be MISB, have the cards. The TRU re-issues are fine too. The only person that can verify my buying status is CounterPunch as he is the only person I have purchased from.

TakaraTomy could, but they won't. Look at their track record, there aren't a lot of MP releases each year. Not to say that your favorite characters aren't on their drawing board, but I just don't think the likelihood of getting all these figures in MP scale is going to be very high.

Buy the new Coronation Starscream, hope you can find the repainted Sunstorm at a decent price since it's been advertised as an exclusive; now, wonder if Sideswipe will be released before the end of 2012. Meanwhile, we'll hopefully see Ironhide/Ratchet released before this Summer and maybe even get one version of MP Soundwave before year's end.

Not complaining about it, though. If we really did see a ton of MP releases, we'd either be broke or have to severely limit any other spending. I still haven't picked up the new Prime yet (MP-10).

What are the chances of a US release MP Sideswipe? How bout Thundercracker?

So no one knows a good place to get the MP SS coronation set (cape/crown/pads) besides TFsource??

I'm not sure if we'll see Thundercracker, but I feel like a US release for Sideswipe would definitely happen. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't.

Honestly if Hasbro was smart they would. Grimlock and Hot Rod sold amazingly here. Guess we will have to just wait and see.

well i hope Hasbro does do Thundercracker - i wanna know for sure b/c then I'll go for a takara MP TC if not. Prime, Starstream, and Sunstorm need to go away first!!!!!!!! Get out of here!!!

We should start a pool on what scale Sideswipe/Lambor will be. My money is on Alternity size and price point, so he properly scales with MP-10.

(My rationale, you ask? It lies within:

The question is, will the e-Hobby/Amazon exclusive repaint be G2 Sideswipe, Clampdown, Deep Cover, or Tigertracks? Out of those choices, I bet it's Red Alert....

While it makes sense to have them Alternity-sized for MP-10's trailer, I'd prefer them to be a little bit bigger to look good alongside Rodimus. However, if they do go with Alternity scale it would give me a better reason to have the few I do in my collection, as well as fit better with seekers. It could mean they'd be more affordable too, but I wouldn't count on it.
