MTV Interviews Mark Wahlberg: Age of Extinction, Dinobots and his Kids' Cameos

MTV.com has posted a fairly short interview, accompanied by a video, with one of the stars of the upcoming Transformers: Age of Extinction film - Mark Wahlberg. The actor mentioned, or rather didn't, the Dinobot involvement, and a cameo from his two children in the movie. Check out the whole interview here!

But when MTV News spoke with the star of "Age of Extinction," Mark Wahlberg — who was in town to announce the 2014 opening of a Wahlburgers — he wasn't quite ready to talk openly about the secret. "You can't say that, dude. Did you leak it? Did you leak it? You leaked it," he said. "Somebody leaked it, dude. Somebody was on the set leaked it, and it is not OK. It's not cool."

Well after reading that it's no wonder Peter Cullen can't get a cameo! Bay is just such a cold hearted bastard

Seriously though that's great for Mark's kids, I hope they had a blast!

My problem is that his kids aren't mentioned as actors. So what about the ACTUAL child actors? F*ck them? I mean, why does the world have to work like a club?!? The only reason Wahlberg got the job for TF4 is cause Rock had to turn Bay down and cause of Pain & Gain (no idea how he got that role, but presumably, the competition must have been smaller :???: ).

Anyway, I don't generally think of Wahlberg as a douche, but WHY he'd try and throw sand in our faces re: the all-but-confirmed dinobots? I mean, is he kissing Bay @$$? I don't get what his goal is... except pleasing Bay (maybe a "thank you" for letting his kids in on the action?).

Well, that's my other problem - you let your kids do a cameo in an indie film, fine. But a big Hollywood movie like TF4?!?!? That's a bit much (when so many qualified actors have worked hard to get to the auditions). I just think it's a bit abusive of your powers - like having your cousin do all the catering. Look, I know it happens, but try to keep it to a minimum, or AT LEAST keep it quiet so it isn't as annoying. :BANG_HEAD:

I'm betting Mark is under a nondisclosure act, he might not have known if he was allowed to say anything. Also how many actors audition for crowd reaction senes?

Really? I see nothing wrong with Bay's reasoning. He's 100% correct. You might think its just putting them in the back ground and filming but when your trying to get a certain shot, angle, reaction etc., the actors/extras have alot to do with getting that shot done correctly. It may seem easy but when you look at it on film it can go completely different than how you envisioned.
Last year i was luckly enough for Toyota to use my Personal FJ cruiser in one of there commercials. We filmed for over 4 hours... Different angles, speeds, certain vehicles in front of the other, etc, etc. All those hours of filming for literately about 2 seconds in the commercial. So its not as easy as just placing someone in the back ground and filming them.

What about the other child actors? They will be paid and I'm sure will have an awesome experiance working on a big movie set. They will also be named in the end credits along with all the other actors and/or extras. What's the problem?

As far as "He only got the part because the Rock turned it down.".. If this is true, so what? You know how many people end up getting parts because someone else didn't accept it? That's just how Hollywood works. And how can you just presume that the competition must have been smaller? Wahlberg has quite an extensive movie log. Something tells me that could have played a part in him getting the part.

Maybe because its not his place to confirm, or deny rumors. Plain and simple. The fact that a producer has confirmed is irreverent. Intill there is an official press release, as an actor you keep your mouth shut. You don't want to be "That guy" that releases info before its ready to be released. As far as the producer spilling the beans, well not sure if that can be concidered "Offical", but if it is, that might have been after the interview with Walhberg to which he had no clue.

Its a just a cameo. Not a full fledged major role. I don't see how he stepped on anyone's toes, or how someone else was denied screen time as a result of this.

I was being sarcastic. I've never believed that Bay should be held responsible for every fanboy's whim. Bay isn't perfect, but he isn't a monster either.

I believe too many people have "Bay blinders" .
