I listen to pretty much anything that came before the late 80's, and that includes a bit of classical music every once in a while (only if I'm really in the mood for something different, because I'd much rather stick to rock 'n' roll), as well as remixes of old video game music (haha as nerdy as that may sound it's neat to hear old memories revamped).
Anyway, some of my very favorite artists (not gonna attempt songs) are-
The Beatles (and any of their solo careers)
Buddy Holly
Hall & Oates
The Steve Miller Band
Chet Atkins
Badfinger
James Taylor
Queen
Billy Joel

I feel so strange, because I have no idea who any of these band or groups or whatever their calling them now are!
I’m not a big fan of newer music when you see my list
ABBA, my favorite music, my fav “Does you mother know that you’re out!”
Rolf Harris, very funny, my fav is “Tie me kangaroo down sport”
Bobby Daren, great music, my fav “Beyond the sea”
Big Band, the original stuff, my fav “The Chattanooga choo-choo”

I didn't think anybody liked metal besides me anymore.
Listen to 'Bulls on Parade' by Rage Against the Machine and 'Lying from You' by Linkin Park.
That's some seriously hardcore stuff up there.

lol I just listen to all the newest catchy pop songs. I know they're overplayed on the radio, but I still listen sometimes!

I prefer the sounds of true metal to anything else. RAtM, is good stuff, but not so sure about Linkin Park

I also like some other artists like Michael Jackson(Thriller is an amazing album. All over the rock/metal charts for me. Not so much into pop. If there was a pop artist I'd listen to, it'd be Katy Perry, but... eh.
Faith No More is always at the top. Always.
Then there's Megadeth, AC/DC, Killswitch Engage, Soul Coughing, Filter, Static X, Cop Shoot Cop, Helmet, Q, Peter Gabriel, Anthrax, Plushgun, Therapy? (older stuff, like Church of Noise and before), White Zombie (but no so much Rob Zombie), Fear Factory, Quicksand/Rival Schools (they're almost the same band... same singer, anyway), Sevendust, Ra Ra Riot, Tenacious D. Alkaline Trio and Rise Against have been getting some airplay lately. I used to be into Roth Van Halen... really into them... but I can't get back into them.
I'm trying to get into the National. Can anyone suggest some songs (aside from Bloodbuzz Ohio)? Also haven't decided about Tegan and Sara.
If you haven't heard of them, I really suggest Quicksand/Rival Schools. They're gggrrrrrreeat! And I'm not saying that because I just saw a Frosted Flakes ad. Check out Plushgun, too, if you're looking for something a little lighter.

I'm more of a Haste the Day, MyChildren MyBride, Maylene kind of guy. Thrice has been ruling though as of late with some Emery added in.
I can appreciate talent in any genre though really.

You got it. I occasional also indulge classical music.

), and contemporary christian (bunch of feel good peeps only paying lip service to God).

My likes
Classical
Folk
Pop (If it’s done well)
Rock (only a few songs)
Soft (soothing and relaxing music
)
My dislikes
Rap (That is not music, it’s glorified speeded up rhymes
)
Hard rock (To loud!
)
