My First Custom: End of ROTF Prime

This was my first custom TF that I really got into. Started him last November and gave up since my daughter was teething. But once I got some extra free time again, I picked him back up and finished him in June. I wanted him to look really #@$%ed up so he has all sorts of little marks and stuff everywhere, lol. Any suggestions would be helpful from all you experienced ones out there!!!

Very impressive work on the battle damage deco.

I wanted to do my Animated Optimus like this for a stopmotion...but I fail.

Nicely done! He really looks beat to scrap.

The only thing to really make it better would be a dry brush of either tan or rust (for mud/earth) and black (dirt/carbon scoring/general wear-n-tear).

Going at him with a soldering iron is a nice touch! In general it looks good apart from the silver outline on the flames, which are a little messy.

I suggest you learn about dry brushing to get a metallic effect instead of merely painting him silver.

The best advice I can give is to look at other people's work and decide what you think works. Some people who's work I used to admire when I started I now think doesn't look so good so always keep your eyes open with a fresh perspective.

Thanks everyone! I had borrowed a compressor from my friend but sadly it broke while I was practicing with it. Yeah, the outlines were a mess lol. The only ones that looked even decent were the inner calf ones, which were done with a dip of paint on the tip of a scalpel lol.
