My forgotten Transformers Machine Wars haul.

I accidentally ran into this lot of Transformers that I knew nothing of but they were interesting enough and appeared complete in very decent shape so a home they went. Machine Wars basic figures are what they are. I don't think they made any more one step transformations basic figures than what I have here (correct me if I'm wrong) before Hasbro did away with this line. Yes I could've found a better way to spend $54 I'm sure but I instantly got hooked by the very neat one step complete transformations that I haven't ever held in my hand or ever seen. Darn! You're right, I should've used that money elsewhere in my collection. Oh well what's done is done.

All 8 at once? Dang, lucky shot!

You're right in that Hasbro stopped making one-step spring-loaded transformations between Beast Wars/Machine Wars and the Generations Data Discs (Cybertron Override comes close, but she has a few additional steps). However, those MW basics have been redecoed quite a few times:

Megatron/Megaplex
BWII Thrust
RiD Wind Sheer
Robot Masters Air Hunter

Thundecracker/Skywarp
BWII Dirge
RiD Skyfire
Robot Masters Wing Stun
BotCon 2006 Waspinator

Mirage/Prowl
RiD Skid-Z / Car Robot Indy Heat
Car Robot Super Indy Heat
Robot Masters Rijie (Ligier aka Mirage)

Hoist/Hubcap
RiD Tow-Line / Car Robot Wrecker Hook
Car Robot Super Wrecker Hook
Robot Masters Wrecker Hook

All of those have the one step springloaded transformation?

They're repaints of those very molds, so yes.

So the eight I have are all the original molds?

Sweet! Thanks for the info. However I almost feel compelled to track down those repaints. I better not...

Just go for the RiD ones if you really need to. I really like the RiD jet repaints myself:

IIRC, weren't the small MW toys actually the first Transformers ever made with the spring loaded transformation gimmick (made at the tail end of G2 but not actually released until Machine Wars came out)?

The first manual ones, yes. The very first were the Jumpstarters Topspin and Twin Twist, if but you wanna get technical, the Battlechargers Runabout and Runamuck were the first non-Diaclone ones. :-B

RiD Wind Sheer
RiD Skyfire
RiD Skid-Z / Car Robot Indy Heat
RiD Tow-Line / Car Robot Wrecker Hook

Are all in route. Got them all new for $36 shipped. So now I'm into all these suckers for $90.

Should we mention the Beast Wars spring loaders?

Probably not ... might be more fun down the track.

Ahh but technically, the examples you provide are examples of the first auto-transformations and not lever-based spring-loaded transformations ;)

Funny, is it just me or is this thread causing all of these one step Transformers to sell like hot cakes? lol

Beast wars Thrust and Dirge (Takara?) also now in route for $38 shipped. This is starting to add up! Wow now at $128.

Tracking down the Robot Masters might be hard. There seems to be a lot of Robot Masters KOs?
