Well, here is my first bash. A repaint. Of a toy that cost $1.99 at my local Family Dollar. Universe Spychanger Jazz into "G1 Sideswipe".

First, the original: Please refer to:

Now, the repaint:

I know there's still a lot of areas I need to touch up the paint on, especially the silver areas (feet, windoes, etc). But to be honest, it's kinda funny how much this reminds one of G1 Sideswipe, eh?

I like it, especially if it's your first one! Well done! :D

If I were you, though, I might paint the windows black and paint the gold spikes on the wheels silver -- and maybe slap on a big Autobot logo on the front. That would really nail it in vehicle mode.

Don't change a thing in robot mode, though. 8)

My early repaints were shoddy as hell, with a couple of exceptions. This looks brilliant! Like Fighbird said, silver wheels and Autobot a logo on the hood and you're sorted! :D

Heh, I've been painting 15, 25, and 28mm scale figures since 1986... My big problem was finding a spray paint that would give me at least basic coverage without making the arm joints so tight they wouldn't move. I ended up using a Testor's metallic red, but it was still quite thick, and I ended up having to go over the exterior parts with a normal brush and paint. I have yet to varnish the painted surfaces, but will soon.
