Need help transforming MP Prowl

I just got MP Prowl and I am having difficulty transforming his chest torso. I can't get the car hood to lock into place with the tab on the abdomen. Anyone have this problem?

My MP Streak has the same problem. Seems best to leave the back unconnected, so the chest locks in the front. I wonder if this extends to Smokescreen.

Have you folded the mirrors in correctly?
They should position in the two slots under the hood, not next to them.
That torso tab is notoriously tight once it's in place

Agreed that the wing mirror placement makes a big difference. I don't like that whole area of the transformation, feels like something will break if not done 100% correctly.

Yes, all three figures were just as fiddly for me.

Thanks. That did it. Agreed fiddly at that spot. And it took excessive force to get the tab to lock. More force than I like to use. Thought something was sure to break.

Totally agree, I did the same thing on my MP Prowl. Too much tension and the chest tend to snap off when the back pack is plug into the black groove. Instead of plugging the back pack peg into the intended black groove, I just placed it under the groove. Now, when I move him around, the chest doesn't snap off anymore.

I have all three, if you angle the torso forward just a bit, then push hard it should click in and the back will lock in nicely. and yes proper placement of the mirrors is a big help.

Transforming him back into alt mode and unsnapping the chest was even scarier. I was almost certain the hood was going to crack from the force from that chest tab. Damn.

I know man, for that reason alone, I just stop position the mirror into the intended groove. Instead, I just lay the two mirror side by side next to the groove. Then I lock the the chest plate into the hood. Of course I don't lock my back pact too. Now when I unclip the chest, it's extremely easy, not so rigid compare to the normal transformation.

Important tip for unpegging that part: brace your hands against your chest (near your nipples) so when you pull the top and bottom halves of Prowl apart your hands can't go very far. It'll stop your hands travelling too far and ripping him in half like Jazz in the '07 movie.

I hope you understand the technique, I can't explain better than that.

I'm glad I found this thread. I spent about an hour and a half trying to transform Streak into his alt mode after fatefully making that clip meld after a few conversions throughout the months. After removing a couple of screws and marring some plastic with pliers (covered in cotton, without chipping any paint, thank Primus), I've come to terms with the fact that my Streak is an Action Master. (Darned Nucleon.) Maybe I have an excuse to buy that blue Bluestreak now...

Should I be pulling up towards the head or pushing into the chest? The figure looks like it has some "leverage tabs?" to stick a flathead screwdriver into for some added torque but I really don't want to break this thing or my fingers.

I did both. I also positioned my fingers to the edge of the hood frame so that I didn't crack the hood from the pressure. I think I will shave the tab a hair so that is slips easier

that tab you are all talking about to hold the chest in place, it will unclick with a swift short fast pull, and not with nearly as much pressure as it takes to lock it in.
