e-Hobby has posted some new larger individual images from the e-Hobby/TFCC SG "Solar Requiem" set. We get some nice Bot and alt mode images of Soundwave, Blaster and the cassettes. Still no images of the golden Eject/Rewind repaint. Images are mirrored below.

The cassettes are still the only reason to get these. I like Blaster's alt mode in those colors but he is too boring in bot mode. I wish they had used the Soundwave and Blaster mold instead of the SoundBlaster and Twincast mold. I don't like how far out their chests stick.

Don't worry about that, he never got one on Cybertron. Only when he landed on Earth and scanned a van did he get that bandana. ;)

And whoever called "Solarbot" get +1 internet.

I think these look awesome. I know some like to bitch about the Shattered Glass fiction, but I only collect the toys. I couldn't care less about the silly stories made up to sell them. They're cool toys, in cool colors, and that's enough for me.

Soundwave looks cool, but not cool enough for that price. Blaster is kinda meh.

Now, who wants to play guess the price? I say $179.90 USD on the club store!

Let the year of the cassettes begin! Between this, the LP release, and the MP version my cassette forces shall increae exponentially.

It's strange .... while I was indifferent to the white ipod version of Label SW when it was released I kinda like this version of SW. It'd be nice if there was a white-heavy version of Rumble and Frenzy to compliment Glit and this guy.

Ehobby has it listed for 13,900 yen roughly 177.00 US, so Im guessing most likely between 175 - 180. :MAXIMAL:

At about $90 for each it's pretty steep compared to the Encore releases, but it's an ehobby release so that's to be expected.

 My guess was so accurate! Seriously, I know TFCC too well. Hahahaha. (Really, I did not check, it was a guess).

Ehobby release eh? Like Black MP Rodimus and Brown G1 megatron? Thoes 2 are still lingering around collector shops... Megatron started at around $80 US... Now he's down to $63... Black rodimus I don't even check the price anymore. Still, I'm not planning on picking these up.

Not all of them linger like that. But with deluxes getting smaller and pricier and the same being true for MPs, I can't say these are overpriced compared to Brown Megatron from years and years ago.

But I guess we'll see. I'm getting these mostly for the cassettes. Although I do like the look of Soundwave.

Black MP Rodimus is currently $175 at TF Source and $169.99 at BBTS. eBay BIN prices are $200-$225. I think it's a beautiful figure and I'd buy it in a heartbeat if it wasn't so expensive.

Re: New e-Hobby/TFCC SG Soundwave Vs. Blaster Images

Postby KNM2012 » Wed Sep 05, 2012 3:01 pm

I think I am going to pass. Mainly due to the fact that I am trying to be very picky about the pieces/sets I buy, especially since I already obtained the "Encore" version of Soundblaster. That, and the ignorant "debate" made against a point I was making with the "VSE" name and Takara Tomy banner (and not the set itself) was added to my reasons not to get it.

(I will be ignoring all counter-notions about said "debate." So keep those thoughts to yourself, please. 8))

But I digress... Looking at them, here are my feelings on this set:

:BOT:: e-HOBBY adds another item to Takara Tomy's vintage* G1 set.
:BOT:: Both e-HOBBY and TFCC (corrected my friend on this) are giving the Japanese fans their own Shattered Glass universe.
:BOT:: We have a very good chance that we may see TFCC bring this set be tied to BOTCON, and receive a TFCC packaging.
:CON:: We have to wait until the comic is here to see what kind of events unfold, which means that it is a gamble when it comes to the fiction.
:CON:: TFCC has not yet said when or if they will reissue it on their front, which makes it a gamble for those who only want their stuff.
:CON:: This may be a another event-based limited set, which pretty much means that it has a high chance of being costly in the secondary/after-market.

All I can say is that if you have both the luck and the money, and do not care if a TFCC set comes out, then go for it. Just know that this piece is part of Takara Tomy's (*: 1985) VS (VSY?) line, so it continues e-HOBBY's tradition of adding figures to the 27 year old vintage line. That, and it is spun-off from the "Invasion" set, which also is based on a 27 year old tradition of importing U.S.-based Transformers (in their original packaging) to Japan. :-B

The rest... Take a gamble and see if you made the right choice. ;)

I found this over on tformers.com. The e-Hbobby site has posted bio's for the SG characters. They have been run through Google Translate so they may not be 100% accurate but they give a good look into the characters. Ratbat is Batman, so cool :)

Book sale finally SG vs SG Soundwave Blaster e-HOBBY limited collaboration!

Introducing a special review of this set to commemorate the start of pre-orders "SG vs SG Soundwave Blaster e-HOBBY limited collaboration," the second part of TCC collaboration and e-HOBBY!

Because there is the case of prototypes, the final may differ slightly from the actual product photo.

SG Soundwave
Title: correspondent (cheerleader)
Formal job title but correspondent, bills itself as cheerleader, trying to raise the morale of fellow who loves rock and roll. Transferred to the new body by the soul, we have been able to go back to the original Earth.

SG Blaster
Position: Intelligence unit commander
subordinate only to what you can dominate, genuine sadist. I'm plotting revenge on Soundwave and Wing Blitz that led the troops cassette bot, he was banished to the moon.

SG rat bat
Position: Vigilante employee
Usually televised speech but an outcast, change the paint at night, transformed into dark hero to protect the Earth. Good without resorting to arms, I will track down the villain with clear mind.

SG Slug Fest
Position: Warriors
Regardless of the brain also has been enhanced to Starscream scientist, one idiot Decepticons. Micawber that I believe have the stamina and confidence to firepower, and are evaluated fellow but surely.

SG Ramhorn
Position: Runaway soldier
Trapped rewind, animal type transformers with intelligence. The fanatic obsessed with chaos, and there is a deeper meaning of something even chance events.

SG rewind
Position: Tracker
Follow-up experts honed in the wilderness of stars Cybertron. Blaster was hired to increase the number of cassette bots. From battle are interested for the Earth's creatures.
