My hatred is vented towards them making the game accurate (and best color scheme in my opinion) figs exclusive and not make that many of them..

Or rather the rest shoulda been black, too, because the bright lavender sticks out extra crappy.

I think the whole thing's just been badly conceived from the get-go. There were times in the past where I felt that Takara Henkei repaints were substantial improvements over the Hasbro originals, but in this case, it really feels to me like proper color schemes have been intentionally withheld for a later release. I can't get behind that. Blast Off and Vortex (Razorclaw) are hideous, not to mention Ruination. If they were going to just straight-up homage the RID combiner they should have stuck with the original names. Looking forward to the Henkei release that'll feature a yellow and purple Impactor, a completely blue Whirl, etc.

Nice gallery, some nice comparison shots.

It made me almost want to purchase this figure, but then I remembered the neon mess that is heading to retail.

Awesome gallery Seiber :D. Been waiting for this for weeks now. I gotta say for me the best out of 5 would be Onslaught. The 2nd would be Blast-off and 3rd would be Swindle. I hope Hasbro/TT will release more combiners like this in the future. Bruticus is just so frickin awesome !!!

PS : Yeah it bothers me too that the port for Vortex is black @_@...Kinda wonders why they did that >.<...

Kudos on your dedication to this gallery, it's really something. As for Bruticus. Still ugly. I like Brawl and Swindle, I might get those at retail if their decos haven't been screwed up too much. I also wonder what the Wreckers are gonna look like, and who will get whose mold. If it's gonna happen.

I really want to like this set, but the proportions in the combined Bruticus mode just bug me for some reason. The legs are ok, and the Vortex arm looks pretty good; but the Blast Off arm looks a bit too long to me. The torso looks a little too small in comparison to the limbs as well. I think this guy would look much better if they had just bit the bullet and made Onslaught a voyager to help bulk out his torso a bit.

Maybe I'll like this better once I see a few more reviews of the set and grab the retail version (the colors really don't bug me). :CON:

The best thing about this set is the packaging.

Anyone want to get rid of their SDCC set? Lemme know. I have stuff to trade. I'd much rather "spend" getting rid of excess figures, than spend cold, hard cash on these.

If anyone is interested - I did a review of each guy and will be posting Bruticus tonight here - www.paxcybertron.wordpress.com

I have a few different transformations that I feel help the appearance a great deal.

I have Starscream, Ultra Magnus, and Kickback. All three are very nice figures, and I highly recommend them if you're trying to assemble a neo-G1 cast or a FOC cast.

Ryan, you do such a great job with the lighting on these photos. You almost make them look as good as their Takara counterparts. I wish Hasbro would stay away from off white plastic on future Starscreams. I popped on Hasbro Sideswipe and Magnus. But for the Cons, I had to go with Takara. I stayed away from Air Raid/Fireflight because I considered it to be a crappy attempt to re-purpose the Shockwave mold. They should have just let it be exclusive to Shockwave the same way the classics Galvatron mold was never repurposed.

I actually like Sideswipe a lot more than I expected, despite his scary, soulless eyes.

Starscream, of course, you gotta have to go with the other 'Cons, and Ultra Magnus owns his mold so much more than Prime did before him.

However, Kickback is the true standout, and the best insect-former we've had in years (looking down upon at you Hardshell). Almost the entire wave is worth owning.

Air Raid... uh...

...has a nice sword accessory? ;)

What a great-looking bunch of figures. :)

It's a shame Hasbro went and short-packed Kickback though, there's only 1 per case and local collectors are hoarding them because it's a troop-builder. I've only been able to get ahold of Starscream and Sideswipe so far.

Starscream looks amazing. The transformation's pretty simple but he's defintely one of the best Screamers so far.

Sideswipe is an improvement on Jazz and comes with a cool BFG. Those are probably the best things I can say about him. It's just not a great mold, lol.

3/4 of a line's sizeclass being the same darn mold has to be some kind of record, right?

If you count Springer and Blitzwing it's half, still a record though

I saw Blaster in Walmart and TRU here in VA at one point. I think it was Emporia, there walmart had all 4. Have yet to see Springer or Blitzwing in my area. Giving it time.
