New Galleries: Transformers United (Generations) Drift

Seibertron.com is proud to present our newest gallery, and this time it's not a movieverse figure! It's Generations Drift! (Although, there is a Drift character in the upcoming Age Of Extinction!)

This character has divided comic fans, with some labeling him a "Mary Sue" (More on that, here.) but he does have his fans, and Hasbro thought him important enough to release a rather nice figure based on the character. Heck, the mold's even been redecoed as Blurr!

Drift's movie figure will be released in wave 2 of the Age Of Extinction line, sometime this summer, so until then, enjoy the original by visiting our in depth gallery of this mysterious Autobot seeking penance for his once Decepticon past.

UN Drift is quite nifty. As much as I know exactly zilch about Drift as a character (I don't read the comics), he's got a pretty cool car mode and a badass bot mode. As I recall, Hasbro's off-white version is more comic accurate (you folks who read the comics please feel free to correct me on that point), but I like the much cleaner, crisper look of the Takara version better (surprise, surprise. The Takara fiend prefers the Takara version :P.). It looks less "left-out-in-the-sun-too-long"/"played-with-in-the-dirt" to me. For now at least, until it starts to yellow :(.

Even though the colors are off (possibly due to gangmolding), robot mode Goundbuster is based on G1 Neutro:

Maybe they should have saved the name for the repaint of Scoop...

Don't understand how a construction vehicle can be partnered up with such a fast car. It was odd enough that a jet was partnered with Swerve.

That package art actually makes Tailgate look somewhat intimidating.

Which figure did you have trouble finding in stores?

I believe it is actually a bomb dispersal unit of some denomination, playing off the fact tailgate lied about his role as bomb disposal if I remember correctly, when he was in fact waste disposal of a denomination.

You've got to love Groundbuster's Pooper Scooper mode or Cybertronian Vacuum Cleaner mode!

Whoa, this toy is so much different than the G1 toy and it has been done in a way that gave the character a different feeling. This toy is (like I've said before) a feminine looking toy that's a male. It looks...weird and it reminds me too much of Beast Wars Metals Air Hammer.

Oh, he's deliciously MTMTEy, I LOVE IT!(but WTF is going on with the boxart? That doesn't look like him at all! He does look cool, though, just not like Tailgate.)

Sure it looks like him! Just his G1 version oddly instead of the Generations/MTMTE version oddly.

The whole Ruination wave...I didn't see one.

You've seen the gallery of Tailgate with his partner Groundbuster, but are you ready for their wavemates? That's right, it's new gallery time, and this guy's a little heavy on the electrons! Seibertron.com is excited to add to its renown galleries Generations Legends-class Skrapnel with Reflector!

Skrapnel is a modern update of Generation One Shrapnel (renamed due to licensing and trademark reasons), and Reflector not only transforms into his iconic camera mode, but also a weapon for Skrapnel to wield and cause mayhem among the Autobots. Fans of the original Generation One toyline will recognize Reflector's weapon mode as the same weapon the original Shrapnel's toy had. Take a quick glance below, and click any of the images to be taken to each figure's respective gallery should you want to view more:

Can't wait for this one. Hope he comes out soon - and that they have plans to do Bombshell and Kickback...

This isn't Reflector per se - more like Viewfinder.

That said, I'm really impressed with the weapon mode - it actually looks like the G1 version of Shrapnel's weapon.

Hope to find Skrapnel, I'm a sucker for bug-formers and he'd go great with Chop Shop, the Prime Insecticon, and the upcoming Venin/Bugly. Even if they don't make the other Insecticons (which unfortunately seems likely at this point), he'll still have plenty of bug buds to hang out with.

Shrapnel is absolutely fantastic! They kept him G1 size but upped the articulation and detail and it works.

A bit of an odd pairing with Reflector but hey....why not right?

I found Generations Cosmos today and i was just about to give up altogether. Now i gotta get all tense again waiting/hunting for this guy now. will it ever end..... ;)

It's unfortunate that Reflector in bot mode appears to have a "super deformed" set of a certain part of the male anatomy between his legs and dragging on the floor. That's unfortunate. #-o
I'm sorry....but once i saw that i couldn't unsee it.
