I love the DC Animated films such as Green Latern, Flash, or the upcoming Son of Batman or Justice League War, my fav being Planet Hulk.

I was thinking it would be an awesome idea if Shout or another company such as GONZO do individual Animated Films. Similar towards the DC movies.

There is no shortage of materials to be used to do this. Such as the IDW Comics like the Dinobot deal the Exodus Book or Toy Lines.

Or use Fan Generated ideas these would be awesome to make into a new line up of Brand new Stories that could be a Direct-To-DVD deal.

I would love to see the Golden Disc of Cybertron which is about Beast Wars. The Comic we could see The Avengers in Transformers, or a GI Joe Transformers crossover. Awesome Ideas.

Why has no one done this yet.

Scale.

Not toy scale, but company scale. DC I believe has gotten in bed with Warner Brothers and Disney has bought Marvel, so both companies have massive animation studios behind them who have been producing stuff for over 50 years each. They have the resources to work on multiple projects at once. Marvel and DC are also the top comic book producers in the world.

In short they have the people, the means, and the money.

Hasbro, on the other hand doesn't have that backing or the resources to do something like that. They license all non-toy stuff to outside groups such as IDW (who is number 3 comic book producer in North America I believe). Yes they could license and partner like what they're doing with Michael Bay films, but if they do that then they risk more and more market segregation. Considering that Hasbro's goal with any media is to sell its toys, it's difficult to base a whole toy-line on an hour-and a half animated straight-to-dvd release.

Do you mean a film showing how the Golden Disk was stolen by the Predacons before the Beast Wars cartoon?

It has been done before though, as G.I. Joe Spy Troops and Valor vs. Venom had no media presence outside of their respective direct to video releases that I know of.

Heck, 3 3/4 G.I. Joe started out in the 80's as couple of five part mini-series before gaining a regular series, and let's not forget that initially Transformers was only going to have it's 3 part opener and a four issue comic.

I'm sure there's other examples that can be given.

Yea Saber that is the Disk deal I meant I havent been keeping up & my info is a little rusty. Mainly I been concentrating on upcoming games from Drakengard 3 to Tales of Xillia 2 also Bravely Default.

So my Transformers History is a little rusty at the moment. I also havent been paying attention to AOE either other than the Superbowl 25 Second Trailer which was OMG Amazing.

Also I think it is also sad it has almost been 15 Years and still Transformers RID is the only Transformers series that has never been made onto US DVDs while the UK has had 3 sets of RID the US had had NONE.

I am just wondering why RID has never been on DVD. I am just going to pretend that RID never exsisted but would be nice to have RID then my Transformers Collection would be complete.

I still think it would be an awesome deal to make Direct to DVDs based off of Transformers Materials. Also they are other companies out besides Hasbro that could make these such as GONZO who done Transformers Cybertron & also Vandread.

But I guess GONZO would have to get the OK from Shout Factory, IDW Comics or Hasbro before they could make these Animated deals.

While with DC they are with WB & there will be 2 new movies this year Justice League War which is based fromt the 52 deal. & The Son of Batman which is about Damien Wayne being an unruly child son of Bruce & Tali Al Ghul. This is also from Comics.

While in Arrow it is Nyssa Al Ghul which is no relations to Tali Al Ghul being brand new for Arrow. So I guess Ra Al Ghul will also be diffrent in Arrow.

Sorry Saber my Comic Geekness came out Awesome Stuf. Just sucks no Animated TF Deals done like the DC deals. But understandable would be a complicated mess & also expensive.

But all in all not bad I still have my IDW Comic, Novels like Exodus plus I am working on my Transformers Fan-Fiction Crimson Skies I can make my Own Characters & Stories.

Thats the beauty of being s Transfan for 30 years.

That's so cool how you went off topic.

Well then, you're in luck, because such an animated feature has already been made back in 2007:

I would love to see something completly new. For example series centered about third fraction of Transformers, forced to fight with both Autobots and Decepticons for survival.

Or story aboyt some Transformer from distant colony, witch was destroyed by Autobot/Decepticon conflict. During he's travel he encouter Temple of Unicron, and decide to use he's power to take Revenge and destroy both factions.

Isn't this kind of like

It's not revenge he's looking for. It's justice.

Sorry it took so long to respond, I don't visit this board too often.

There's a couple problems comparing GI Joes to Transformers, mainly that GI Joes would be significantly cheaper to design and produce than a TF figure, meaning that either a TF movie would feature a minimal cast, or some characters wouldn't get toys.

As for the initial G1 series, while I cannot speak to the comics, most VAs recollect that they were being hired for a full 2 season cartoon IIRC, and besides, Takara had done most of the design work on the first waves of figures anyhow.
