I would like to see the back of the camera.

I'm actually less impressed the more I see of these, as the initial 'wow, they made it work' factor wears off. Getting three robots to form a camera is impressive, yes, but the three individual robots seem to have boring forms that I have no desire to look at everyday. And as cool as the -ability- to turn into a camera is, I can't image being that excited about the -actuality- of holding them in the form of a camera. Cameras are boring. And while some of the kibble is used well, using the whole bottom plate as a barricade seems like a cheat.

Yeah, the 'boring' part is why I think Hasbro has Perceptor as a truck and reflector as the remold.

This is the most excited I've been about a figure in a long time. I remember when I was a kid a package showed up in the mail one day addressed to me, enclosed was the G1 mail away Reflector. I asked my Mom who sent it to me and why? She replied, "I guess they just know how much you like Transformers, and wanted to send you one." I was the envy of all the other kids in town, thanks Mom! So I've got a bit of a soft spot for ol' Reflector.

Very cool, definitely getting these. The sort of poseability and weaponary included will make for a wide range of display. Instead of thinking of their alt. mode as a camera, I see it more as long range surveillance that surpasses almost all other TFs. The missile rack means easy disposal of enemy targets, and if they somewhow fail at that, an up close target will now have to deal with 3 different bots, each with unique attack style, making them as a whole, a real deadly force. A great addition to my army of Decepticons. Can't wait to see what "Bullet" has to offer in regards to making use of the lense attachment... I'm hoping oversized gattling gun.
:CON:

They're nice and all but I think it's a little early (10 days?) to say someone's beaten FP for product of the year. Especially when you compare both companies' lines of products and possibly more importantly, their prices.

Agreed. Except for causality, we don't really know of anything FP is doing. PerfectEffect is getting to be good, but FP is still the platinum standard.

Admittedly I am HEAVILY biased, as Reflector is, along with Soundwave and Shockwave, my favorite G1 character(s).

lol, okay. That makes sense. :) And this does look like a great set, yes.

I don't see yet another land vehicle as being less boring than a camera, much more so, in fact; I'd have much rather seen the Perceptor retool be Magnificus in any case, as the mold really doesn't fit the character at all.

My mail-in Reflector got lost in the mail, and by the time we checked with Hasbro they were out of them. I eventually got one as an adult, but the lack of Reflector was the biggest disappointment in my childhood Transformers collecting, so this release is hitting a definite softspot.

I might change my tune if they came up with a Powermaster Prime/God Ginrai upgrade set for classics/Henkei Convoy, but I'm not holding my breath on that one.

To be clear, I think that a camera COULD be interesting, but it isn't by default and this Reflector doesn't do anything with it.

Pe's Qc sucks though. I remember at botcon this past year, TFsource had some of the little guys( damn they were small) on display and they had the legs on backwards and the arms were all wrong.. I stick to looking at the perdy pcitures..not gonna let them sucker me again..

I find their QC is fine, all the products I've got from them have been great. The only issue was with one of their first releases - the little gun that become the handle on Frenzy/Rumble didn't attach firmly, which was fixed on Ninja (and that was more of a design issue than QC).

Also you say the legs were on backwards on Frenzy/Rumble?? They're on ball joints! I don't think they can be put on backwards. If they were on the wrong sides, you could just pull them off and swap them around.
EDIT: I think the waist rotates too (so much articulation for such small guys), so it was probably just mistransformed.

Anyway, Reflector looks so awesome! I'm so looking forward to 3rd party products (and the official stuff too) this year. It's going to be a costly but brilliant year!

I've got two Shadow Warriors, their Frenzy and Rumble repaints, Ninja, and Ratbat. I haven't had a problem with QC on any of them. A few minor paint app issues, but I don't even really consider those QC issues anymore. Their paint apps seems just as good as most official figures I buy now days.

Not really impressed with the camera gimmick BUT individually... It's looking real good.

Hopefully the PE QC for these figures will be much better than the older ones

i like the camera because lately the whole car, jet , tank alt modes have been getting quite unoriginal so im liking this alt mode and it gives those that didnt get to get there hands on the G1 reflector. the camera lens on bullet looks like it could be a jet pack maybe. and the QC issues should be good because the more products PE have the better the QC has been

You could get a G1 Reflector complete and in really good condition for the price these are likely to sell for. Most likely a little more, especially if you are patient.

Except you couldn't, since the complete Reflectors on eBay are priced between $220-$400, and there's a chance you'd just end up with a KO, and I'm going to guess that this guy will be about $75-$90.

I have seen plenty of complete authentic reflectors go for $100-$120. You just have to bide your time and keep watching.

Yea, and sometimes you can buy them seperately and eventually make it up. It is possible, as i've seen people sell it in person for like 40 bucks for the figure with all weapons, but with some play wear.

Wow....

Weapon wise there kind over dressed for a group only known for reconnaissance missions.

But what ever...why hype myself over a camera their going to charge $100 plus for? So for all 3rd party figures my response will be meh!

Has it been confirmed that Non-Reflector will be $100=, or is this still speculation?
