They confirmed months ago that they weren't bringing Breakdown or Unicron (or Ironhide, or Jet Vehicon
) stateside. Remember?
I am glad I got mine on pre-order. I am actually starting to get concerned with Hasbro releases, and the new materials they are using for (safety reasons). What has become of the U.S. where we are so obsessed with safety and regulations. I was really surprised when I saw that Voyager Dreadwing has floppy rubber tail wings, and knee caps and even his head is a just a thicker piece of rubber...
... I am glad that this is a Takara only release. If it was a Hasbro release too, we would have a suck ass toy with rubber head/horns, and shoulder horns, with a big ugly safety pamphlet inside saying try not to poke your eye out kid.
...
I know these toys are mainly for kids, but I am pretty sure Japan has kids too. They just give them a little more credit for not being complete dumb asses and stabbing themselves with a fricken toy....lol
Here in the USA, dumbasses win lawsuits against big companies all the time. Think of all those cigarette smokers that are eat up with cancer from, guess what... SMOKING, that have sued the big tobacco companies for millions for making cigarettes so addictive that they couldn't quit and thus, cancer. Or how about that dumbass woman many years ago that sat her hot cup of coffee from McDonald's between her legs as she drove, spilled it, suffered severe burns down there, and sued McDonald's for an ungodly amount of millions, all because the cup didn't have warning labels on it warning her that contents are hot. It's HOT COFFEE!!! That's how McDonald's serves their coffee, HOT! She's ordered her coffee from them for years and it was always HOT! Yet the dumbass does this move and she gets millions and millions of dollars for being a DUMBASS!!!
This is why toys are now being made with round edges and rubber corners, because these dumbasses are looking for any reason to sue these big companies for millions because they made an unsafe toy without warnings. It's probably just another reason why the prices on our favorite figures keep going up in price.
This opens another door to a previous posting on this site where Transformers 4 would have all new characters because HasTak was dissatisfied with their low toy sales... totally ignoring the pink elephant in the room of too many Bumblebee repaints, too many Optimus Prime repaints, and releasing newer figures too late in the line because they kept adding in another BB repaint or OP repaint instead. So now the prices are going up for Hasbro toys because of lagging toy sales. Did you see the recent price hike just on Deluxe Transformers? It was like a $2.50 price increase. Or if you follow the Star Wars action figure line, basic action figures are now $9.96. I remember when Star Wars action figures were $4.00. Granted, they had limited posability back then, but still, they were $4.00.
So really? Jack the price up, making the figure even more unaffordable even when the figure wasn't selling when it was a few dollars cheaper. Just how big is the committee of overpaid decision makers at Hasbro that came up with this lack-of-commonsense decision? You're already making the Deluxe Transformers figures cheaper and smaller, yet you keep jacking up the price and selling us yet another BB repaint. Stop the BS and FIND some commonsense.
