Take a better look at the back of the calves. That is not just a "'pull down the legs" transform, it's a bit more complex than it looks on the surface.

Remember, Masterpiece Grimlock has BADSICALLY the same transform as G1, but it has a good bit more to it as well. Odds are the same is at work here.

Ya I seen the caves look like they do a little more but the wheels just sit there. Most newer figures that part swings around so the wheels are facing towards the back at least and looks like a leg in the front not just the bottom of a car. And I still like the figure I'm not saying its bad but the lower legs just look blah. And as for Grimlock ya it's just like g1 but there is nothing wrong with it IMO great detail vibrant colors just the right amout of diecast in the right places that figure is what got me started on MP line

If you want an acurrate G1 Sideswipe, the wheels are soposed to be oriented in the position they are. To change it would be inaccurate.

That's a pre-order right there and an immediate buy if all cassettes are included :D

I suspect that an MP Soundwave, if there is one, will include at most 2 cassettes. The price alone for them including them all would be prohibitive.

agreed.. this isn't supposed to be an update to the design, it's supposed to be an attempt to make the toy as cartoon accurate as possible. the wheels are screen accurate.

also, this is more of a voyager sized toy, almost exactly the same size as the binaltech line, as to be in scale with MP10 prime. my guess is that mp13 soundwave will be the same height as prime.

I wouldn't mind, that's still better than trying to hunt down every cassette in expensive sets. Besides since I only buy MPs it's not that much of a problem.

That is true that's how he is in g1 I wasn't thinking about it like that. And if mp-13 is sound wave it would be nice if the cassettes were about the size of classics ravage it would be even cooler if the could put a working am fm radio in him that's not hard I've seen some really small radios these days

Deruji: How many cassettes do you think there are? There are loads. Far too many to possibly be included in one release. What might be nice would be an MP Soundwave with a couple of Cassettes, and then later, an MP Cassetticons set, with 4 of 5 of the major ones left.

Hotrodimust: an AM/FM radio wouldn't be terribly G1 accurate, seeing as how he was a tape player. honestly, if they were to go the route of giving him some kind of music playing capacity, an mp3 would work just as well. Seems unlikely since the most we've had in an MPs up until now has been some LEDs though.

I'm sorry but there was a g1 soundwave that was a working radio and cassette player not so sure about the cassette but I know it was a radio. And a mp3 player would jack the price up a radio probably wouldn't even affect the price because the technology is just rediculously old and cheap lol. Also I commented a while back about the size of mp-13 and said they said he would be about the size of a binaltech and altinator and would fit in mp-10 trailer and someone said those models of TFs are to big to fit in mp-10. Well I'm gonna call you out on that because I just put my silverstreak in mp-10 trailer just fine and it closes up but grimlock won't fit and ravage makes in up to the back wheels so it is possible

There never was one. You're thinking of Blaster, whose Microman predecessor, Radi-Casse Robo, had working electronics. The Radio itself was a small cassette.

No I'm pretty sure it was a soundwave I was reading an article about rare and rumored transformers and they had a picture of it next to a soundwave it was a little larger than g1 soundwave and the guy was talking about how when he was a kid him and his friends used to argue if it really existed and now he owns one. Matter of fact the article was either on this site or tformers because those are the only sites I really read about stuff but once in a while I read something somewhere else

Must be this guy.

In short, no incarnation of G1 Soundwave was a working player.

But that's not the point it's still a g1 product so it wouldnt be non g1 if they did add a gimmick like that. And I didn't know you were trying to say the exact g1 figure with a radio I know that doesn't exist circuit boards were huge back then lol. I like gimmicks well at least cool ones I mean how cool would it be listening to the radio at your deck from your mp soundwave. Radio components are so small these days it wouldn't hinder the transformation in any way.

I really hope this masterpiece is not used for Sunstreaker. Don't get me wrong, it looks awesome but Sunstreaker did not look like Sideswipe to me in the cartoon. I could see this figure being used for Red Alert, however...

I wonder how they're going to do Red Alert from Sideswipe's mold. If you noticed Red Alert's back, the rear window/spoiler section is up behind his head, instead of the windshield. Are they going to add a twister to the back area?

Sideswipe's spoiler is right behind his ankles. I doubt a mere twister mechanism would solve that problem.

Say what? Alternity figures are very detailed. It is amazing that amount of detail that go into such little figures. I agree they just have not been G1 accurate, so far, but that doesn't mean that couldn't change.
