Breakdown does have a different body, and a different transformation. I think (hope) the MP line wants to stay as accurate to G1 as they can. That said, I hope they do release an MP Breakdown, and that he triple-changes into a Menasor leg.

It doesn't matter if his alt mode matched, Breakdown's robot mode body is shaped entirely different than Sideswipe's. Add to that, Breakdown has a Scramble-city style limb mode which Sideswipe does not. A Sideswipe mold repaint into Breakdown simply would not be G1-accurate enough to warrant a place in the MP line.

Yes, this makes 100% sense. I was thinkin that Takara would take the cheap hasbro route, slap some paint on it & call it Breakdown. Overall I'm just happy to see some all new MP figs being made who were never before released
