Colour me less intrigued. I'd assume that the poseable fingers and opening chest is for the Matrix. Can't see much other purpose for them. The axe never was going to be much cop compared to Corbot V's War Axe, although it IS better for those that want the G1 look. Very disappointed in the new gun. I don't like the rifle he comes with. Why would I want a more adaptable one with a great big handle dangling from the bottom.

Whether I get this depends entirely on the accessories Megatron gets and what colour they come in. As it stands, I'm not vibing with this set.

This sounds like good stuff. I can't tell how the new chest go on. Does it fit on top of the existing chest or do you have to take the figure apart? I don't have my Optimus in hand to see how it's possible for the chest to go on. I hope the hands are better than the horrendous ones that come with the BTS-03 G1 Prime matrix of leadership upgrade.

what a bland idea.

first the rolling thunder prime with those terrible colors and dumb clear energon weapons, now this johnny-come-lately modifications that people dont really want/need. these guys need to get their act together and think before they move on a project or these might be the first and last we will see of Xovergen.

the reason fansproject stuck is they put their best foot forward and did what the fans really wanted, and made CJ unique from his mold mate Bumblebee. people are still clamoring for that set and it reaches upwards of 300 bucks. same goes for their second release, CC. it was a necessity for alot of people to get ultra magnus his armor.

tl;dr: try again Xovergen!

Actually the "energon weapons" were painted over once put in the packaging

I'm not too keen on this upgrade, I'll probably skip it.

What the hell is in Megatrons chest??
The only thing I would want from there is the new hands for megatron, so he can wield peg weapons.

I am not sure what you mean by johnny-come-lately mods. If you mean that the upgrade came after the figures release, that is the very definition of all figure upgrades. If you mean that Xovergen is a new 3rd part company, then what was the deadline for 3rd party emergence? Do you consider Crazy Devy or Perfect Effect johnny-come-lately? Everybody's taste is different. Like all 3rd party projects, some will like it and some wont. You might not like/need it but that doesn't mean a thousand other people wont. Some people like crazy devy's devastator upgrade but don't care for upgrades for superion. That doesn't stop crazy devy from developing superion upgrades.

Fansproject's best foot was not with CJ upgrade kit. It was a good start. People are now clamoring for the CJ upgrade and commands such prices because it was very limited and not many people heard about Fansproject until CC. I suspect that Xovergen will be around for a while and will produce some great products.

nothign is screaming "buy me" abotu these parts to me, and i'm worried about the legwork involved in installing the new chest into prime. The atriculated hands are nice but not necessary and the weapons are decent looking but i cant help but feel "meh" about all this.

johnny-come-lately just means newcomer.

im sure i came off as disparaging, but i was just offering my own criticism. the peices themselves look well produced and im sure its a quality product. i guess the designs arent for me, and i respect that.

i disagree with you a little bit on the CJ upgrade, people are still to this day always seraching for a differentiate from oft mold mates BB and CJ, heck everybody cried a sigh of releif when WFC CJ had a remolded head.

You make an excellent point about people always looking for way to make CJ different BB. I just don't think the kit would be selling so much today if it was produced in numbers. Right off the bat the MSRP was supposed to be $30 while BBTS had it priced at $150 from what I have heard.

I'm a little confused by the pictures. Does Optimus' kit require removed his original chest, or does the new one just fit REALLY snuggly over it?
