NEW International and Canadian Member Price!
As our membership drive rolls on, we are very excited to announce our NEW International and Canadian club membership rates. As our International membership has grown, we have continually worked to streamline the entire member sign-up process. We are now able to offer New International memberships/renewals at $78. This is a savings of $11 over the previous membership price of $89.

Canadian Members can expect some savings as well! The new price for Canadian memberships/renewals is $58, down from $69. Also a savings of $11!

So to all our friends from up North to the outback, and everywhere in between, be sure to check out our benefits page, preview the 2011 membership incentive figure Side Burn and then be sure to ... join now!

Interesting. That's a pretty decent price, but for only 6 magazines it's a little much, but I guess that's why the figure is there. I never really liked Side Burn out of the 3 brothers in RiD, but if they're going to bring out X-Brawn and Prowl, I think that would be incentive for me to sign up this year. Hopefully we find out soon.

It's a start but a saving of £7 isn't enough to get me to rejoin.

hmmmm ... given the status of the Australian dollar at the moment i'm almost tempted.

But still, $80-ish for a "free" figure (which I don't have much interest in) and six magazines still doesn't seem very value-for-moneyish.

I only stay in the club for the botcon discount.. The free figure is a bonus but IMo the botcon discount is what makes it worth while..

Well Side Burn doesn't excite me that much, so the reduced price help tip the balance for renewal.

Still waiting for SG Soundwave.

I have to say, that's almost enough to make me bite. Temptinger and temptinger.

...I felt the need to be grammatically incorrect. XD

This is bad time of year to be dropping $60 on stuff I don't necessarily need though, so I'll have to make my final decision in the new year.

Just to put this right up front and center, US$40 = CDN$40.14. The U.S. and Canadian dollars are essentially equal at present. Gone are the days of one U.S. dollar costing $1.40 Canadian.

Of course there are additional costs for international shipping and I appreciate that they add to the bottom line. Whether those costs warrant a 50% fee hike for those north of the 49th parallel, I can't say. I am pleased to see that "streamlining" has lead to a change in membership costs both to Canada and other parts of the world. In the first years of the club, my magazine (sent to Ontario, Canada) was routed through Malmo, Sweden. I don't even want to guess how that worked logistically and logically, although it would certainly do something to the costing.

But LiKwid really hits the nail on the head. It's nice to get a deluxe exclusive (much better in my view than the single 4" figure available to modern GIJoe club members, but I digress), even if I am more tepid about Generations Sideburn than others. While it may make sense for U.S. collectors, when you can routinely pick the add-on up (with whom you may or may not be enamored) for $20-$30 online, it makes less sense for Canadian collectors to join. Unless you are joining for the Botcon discount (which really makes the whole membership free).

Summary? Good for FunPub for adjusting prices. It'll help. But beyond the exclusive, the six magazines (such that they are) are not enough to warrant membership. It's only the discount to the Con that does that.

Last year was the first year that I didn't renew my membership. It seemed like a lot of money for not much pay off. With the new Canadian price however, I'll consider joining again. I do like that Sideburn. I'll wait until the new year to decide.

Me too. Probably pick him up someday. I'm also disappointed because I had a 5 year streak on the go, and now not. Oh well.

This is my dilema. I was lucky enough to get in on P/CP, albeit on the second run. My concern is how costly that G2 Ramjet is going to be on the secondary market...
