Way to Hip Hop, not enough ROCK.
Look up the oldies.
I've been listening since the band was still Hybrid Theory. Consider this: However you look at it, these first two tracks are WAY better than A Thousand Suns. Also, think about Meteora. Imagine if "Nobody's Listening" was the first track you heard off of it. You'd be pretty negative about how it sounded too. No, this album probably won't be the second coming of "Hybrid Theory" but in all fairness, few albums are good enough to be both a debut album and the best seller that year. The band has already stated though that they're going for their "wall of sound" vibe that we know and love and that this album should be much more familiar to fans than the last 2 have been.
I'll be honest though... As long as we have the back and forth between Mike and Chester that makes them so awesome, I'll be hooked. I missed that from the past two albums. Everyone loves "What I've Done" from Minutes to Midnight, and says it is the most like their older stuff, but "Bleed It Out" is my favorite track off the album, and to me is the most "traditional" Linkin Park song on that album.
