I hope we get to see Tucker and what's under the sand.

Did anyone else think their colors were off this episode? Sarge is red, Simmons is crimson, and Griff is orange. That's how they're supposed to be. But in this episode Sarge was crimson, Simmons was purple(like Doc), and Griff was yellow(like Sis). I thought I missed an episode and Doc and Sis somehow got to command.

It's because of the lighting in the room. in the first few eps of RvB made with halo 2 Tucker looked like he was the same color as church.

But as for my suspicions now, I think that Tex is the alpha, it would make sense why Omega was always going after her, why she'd be getting special treatment, why she can kick everything's ass, and it would make sense to pair the alpha with omega.

I hope Tucker comes in soon He's bound to have some stories to tell since his desertion.

Hmm... So Tucker's become a special agent for Command? that's a twist I didn't see coming (admittedly nothing in the conversation supports this theory but I think it has merit).

About time Tucker got back on the show in some form. I wonder if he got partnered with Donut for that mission. :-?

I still say Tex is an AI, but I don't think she'd be the alpha. If she was, the other AIs would be feeling a lot less fragmented and violent than they're currently acting. I'm thinking Tex and Omega are the Alpha's Violence and Rage, respectively. Church could be the alpha, if only because he denies it so vehemently ("he doth protest too much").

Here's my alpha theory. The alpha was copied off a real person, who for the sake of argument was named Church. After the AI was fractured into multiple AIs, the Alpha mind was left as a completely blank entity save for it's latent memories of it's human originator. The alpha, having lost all parts of it's AI form, rebuilt the latent memories into a working real memory and became an idealized copy of the original Church (which would explain why the less than ideal world ticks him off so much).
the final twist will be when the "real" church shows up.

The only depressing thing now is that they're already promoting the RVB Reconstruction DVD. Ep 17 already? just 2 more eps and this season's over.

If I had to guess what Tex is a fragment of (if she isn't the alpha or a copy thereof) she'd have to be his sense of duty. (hee hee... duty) She was about to trade everything to win the war in ep 100, even give up her grudge with o'malley and work with him.

Good news!

While Reconstruction ends at episode 19, (For you people who pay attention, 19 episodes is the length of a standard RvB season) this still isn't the end RvB.

After Reconstruction, there will be "random weekly videos," after a few weeks downtime. Following this, there will be two mini-series, and then an "extended" series to follow-up Reconstruction. The extended series will apparently begin in Spring.

So...don't expect Reconstruction to finish the way you think it will. And I'd bet money RECON will be involved at some point.

I'd like to see all the characters get different armor. If they all had to pick new armor when they got reassigned, why would the pick the same suits? I imagine Sarge as an EOD kind of guy.

Church, of course, because he's inhabiting a robot body, didn't switch. I assume everyone else is too lazy or stupid to switch. Caboose is so dumb, he switched to an older version of his armor. Though we haven't seen if Tucker has gotten new armor yet, and since he's working for Command, that's probably a fair bet.

It's possible that since he was wearign his dead captian's armor that it was taken away and he got a new set for himself.

That makes sense. He only took Flowers' armor because he didn't like Standard Issue Blue. (which Grif and Simmons noted that Standard Issue Red/Blue are for Rookies and Officers) It's likely that he'd get his own set of armor that didn't have a corpse in it at one point.

I bet Tucker will have the Hayabusa armor with the Katana. If Tex comes back, she'll probably have the Rogue helmet.

I don't think Tex will be coming back soon. But I was about to say the hayabusa armor fits tucker wonderfully.

OUTSTANDING twist!

Things seem set up for the Valhalla Chronicles, with the Reds being given the Red Base in Valhalla, and Caboose, with Epsilon and Tex's body, taking refuge in Blue Base.

It's kind of sad to admit, but I don't think Church, or at least Church as we know him, survived the Emp.

Though the real kicker was the last spoken words, where the Director gives his name: Dr. Leonard Church. Tex was based either on the memories of a loved one who had died, or the loved one's mind itself, explaining why she received such special treatment, and Church/Alpha's attraction to her.

Caboose comes off very differently in this. He shows Genuine concern for Church, and a distinct skill for driving the Warthog, even out-driving the Reds, who have had more experience with the jeep than he ever had. He also appears to know what he's doing with Epsilon and Tex.

Really that thing with the Director was awesome.

What an ending, though. Can't wait for the next series!

EDIT:

The series now seems to fit in with the normal Halo Universe. The Reds were granted use of Valhalla by the UNSC, which they didn't recognize. This follows with all the references to the Great War, which was likely the Human-Covenant War.

This gives me the suspicious idea that the thing Command was looking for "Under the sand" may have been the Slipspace generator to the Ark, located in the desert neat Mount Kilimanjaro. If that were true, Tucker's request for Back-up would likely be to combat the Covenant and Flood in the area.

And I know this is a double post, but this is definitely worth mentioning:

Red vs. Blue: Animated.

"Oh, and Grif, in case I don't say this later...'Ow.'"

That was awesome! Both the episode and that movie clip. That is just a clip, right? Not the whole movie. I said they should make a movie. Looks like RvB might get a movie before Halo actually does. :P

It's kind of ovious, but I thought I'd point it out anyway. Looks like Caboose is gonna try to use Tex's body and Epsilon(the Memory AI) to "reconstruct" Church. I wonder how that will pan out.

And one more thing:
TEAMS!
TEAMS!
They gotta get Tucker back now so it can be the original 3 on 3. :D

I hope it comes soon. Recon was great, even if my favorite character (AI church) is dead. Can't wait to see what caboose does with epsilon and church's body. and if Tex will show up.

But questions remain:

Did Tex get absorbed by the meta? Was she even a fragment of church? Will tucker appear later? Did he find his kid? Did wash survive? Did Agent Maine recover once the AI were gone? Will sister and Lopez be transfered to Valhalla? What about the Vic AI? And where the hell is Donut!?

New series, Boys and Girls, Red vs Blue: Relocated.

Not much to talk about, though, at least in regards to following up Reconstruction. Caboose is shown working on whatever it is he was doing with Epsilon, other than that, not a helluva lot.

Spoilers! wrote:PW, yeah, Sarge has Simmons check out the Blue base, to figure out why Blue base's communication works and Red Base's doesn't. Sarge apparently wants Lopez to come to Valhalla to work on rebuilding the Warthog to incorporate the Emp technology. Despite Simmons uncharacteristically telling Sarge it's a horrible idea, and Grif uncharacteristically telling Sarge it's a great one. Incidentally, they were arguing about Simmons' inability to question authority at the beginning.

So new series, that's great. Nothing new story-wise, not so great. Can't wait to see how it goes.

Hey, Valentine's day special.

The first use of Halo 1 since, if I recall, the Blood Gulch Chronicles. First use of Halo 2 since Reconstruction, as well as the first appearance of Church, Wash, and Sheila since Reconstruction. All of them are in flashbacks, and Sheila and Wash don't have any spoken lines.

Also, Simmons doesn't know what Valentine's Day is.

I was more laughing at how church pulled out caboose's heart every year and Doc bit*hed about having to sew it back in

Another new Relocated.

Caboose is doing something, but he doesn't want anyone to know what it is. He threatens to take away Simmons spy privileges. he also doesn't know how the base had power, and that it was on when they got there. I think he's getting a bit smarter, though he's still an idiot.

Sarge says he's afraid of heights, but Simmons said he used to jump out of ships in high orbit during the war, which Sarge says is where he got that fear. I think Sarge may have been an ODST (Orbital Shock Drop Troopers for the uninformed) Helljumper. In fact, his superiority and desire to cause much pain to people he doesn't like are also stereotypical traits of Helljumpers. (Such as the ones who picked a fight with John-117, and then died)

Also, the Reds had a ladder Grif could have taken to the top of the base, despite Sarge saying they didn't.

Caboose heads over to the Pelican, which you may recall also contained Sheila, and, briefly, Gamma/Gary.

Grif says that the bolt launcher at the top of Red base is blocked by pieces of a ship (Sarge, at first, hears a word similar to ship), which I assume belong to the Pelican.

It's been said that the episodes are going to be pretty thin on plot to make way for more jokes (In Rooster Teeth's words "Less plot, more stupid"), so I don't expect much in the way of what Caboose is doing, though they keep showing a little more.

I've read that no, they aren't.

New episode. And some fantastic camera work, no less, a lot of slow-mo at certain points look very nice, as well as placing the credits on Red Base as it pans up.

According to Lopez, Sister is dead, and Blood Gulch has been won for the Reds. The Reds sound more like they found five dollars in the laundry, and less like they just won a war.

Lopez gets there very quickly. Like, a few seconds. His armor is a much darker shade of brown, but then this IS the first time he's bee shown in Halo 3 style.

Grif doesn't believe Sister died, and won't believe it until he sees a body, saying that when they were kids, they went skating and she fell into the ice. She was under water for three hours, but when they rescued her, she was alive and somehow pregnant.

Lopez, in minutes, finishes what Sarge had wanted: A massive underground chamber designed for Holographic simulation. (Lopez was at work for only a minute, the room is massive. Figure that out) Even when Grif thinks it's cool, Simmons (Both of them are having a bizarre role reversal around Sarge...) thinks that it would have been easier just to build the car. Sarge decided just to go for style points.

Meanwhile, Caboose continues work on the ship. I find it odd that all of his lines when it shows him working have made him sound highly competent.

RvB: Relocated finale:

DONUT IS BACK! And I was right, he was working with Tucker. He tells Grif to "help him" (Tucker) and that "it's under the sand" Grif doesn't tell anyone else because he thought it would be a lot of work.

Meanwhile, Caboose is probably possessed by one or more AI, uttering to himself in THE creepiest voice I've ever heard in anything "There...now we can all be together...forever..."

REALLY can't wait for the next series.
