Having watched the entire first season, Rescue Bots has both too. Why, each episode has to have something serious in it since the whole show is based around emergency situations. Often life-threatening ones, even.

They're just not situations that involve people trying to kill each other or trying make others suffer (barring at least four occasions). And such situations happening regularly would be ill-fitting since that goes against the very point this show is trying to make.

It's not that it's afraid to show a war, it's just that that's what TF: Prime is for. This is the TF equivalent of a sitcom, not needing to rely on war to tell a good story, while maintaining a high moral standard not unlike the many sitcoms of the pre-2000s.

Like, if you've ever seen The Andy Griffith Show, this show is very akin to that, only with advanced technology and alien robots. ;)

For TF: Prime? (RB has only had one season thus far)

It is typical of most TV shows to take break between or even during seasons, so as to give the makers time to make more episodes, or so he networks can more exposure to other shows, or other business reasons.

The breaks TF: Prime took were as follows:

5 days between episodes 2 and 3.
5 weeks episodes 5 and 6 (1-5 early ahead of time as a preview).
1 month between episodes 10 and 11.
2 weeks between 12 and 13.
5 weeks between 15 and 16.
2 weeks between 17 and 18.
7 weeks between 20 and 21.
18 weeks between 26 (season 1 finale) and 27 (season 2 premiere).
13 weeks between 41 and 42.
20 weeks between 52 (season 2 finale) and 53 (season 3 premiere).
5 weeks between 56 and 57 ("The Autobits Edition of 53-56 during the meantime).
3 weeks between 60 and 61.
10 weeks between 65 (series finale) and Predacons Rising.

For Rescue Bots season 1, the breaks were like this:

5 weeks between 2 and 3 (1-2 aired ahead of time as a preview).
1 month between 7 and 8.
Episode 6 was pushed back to air on Earth Day, falling in between 8 and 9.
3 weeks between 13 and 14.

All the rest of the episodes for both shows aired regularly each week.

Yea I did mean R.B.

I wish networks could just air all of 1 season without the breaks then till a new season is ready air a different show in the same slot. CN already does this to some extent on the A.S block. Like deadman Wonderland now has soul eater in its time slot.

The cw network and a few others do this aswell.

Well, oftentimes, some shows just aren't ready for air. Networks want to air them sooner than the seasons can be finished, so they take what's available and go from there, waiting till the other eps get made so they can air them. This was especially evident for Armada being aired long before it was even ready.

And they have to account for scheduling with other shows, so as to give all of their programs appropriate amounts of exposure. ;)

Maybe they thought having two transformers television series was inefficient in terms of the size of its audience vs. the resources of handling two shows.

With the announcement of that new Ultimate Bumblebee DVD in february, it makes you wonder if the new series will be focussed on Bumblebee? Maybe it could be a more sitcom-ish type show on cybertron now that Megatron gave up on the decepticons.

Its sounding like its going to be a mashup of Prime and RB, which I'm totally in favor of. It'll be nice to watch transformers again without anxiously anticipating some awful event (optimus in the beginning of season 2 tfp ughhhh) and enjoy some good old bot comedy :D

I wonder if it would be so bad if they did a Generations Cartoon (hear me out).

I only ask because they are already making so many toys in the Masterpiece and Generations line and relying on the comics alone for any promotion. With the 4th movie coming, that will be a second continuity of figures coming out, and then another cartoon will wind up being a third. I feel like they spread themselves too thin.

Wouldn't it make sense to make a cartoon that focused on the Generations toys they're making anyway so that kids will want more and they could focus more on that lin,e meaning even more entries from series such as Beast Wars, Unicron Trilogy, and RID.

Well... what's wrong with having the comics being the medium for the Generations toys?

From what it looks like to me, it seems like Hasbro treats the Generations line as "Toyline #2", with whatever line is part of the movie or cartoon of the year being "Toyline #1". In all official convention presentations, new Generations toys seem to be revealed only after Hasbro first reveals what they view as the main toyline of the year. This year's main line was/is Prime Beast Hunters, while next year's will be Age of Extinction (after Prime Beast Hunters finishes running its course, of course ;) ).

There's also the notion that we have no idea what kind of figures are coming for Generations after we get all the ones that have been announced thus far. I mean, all of the toy designers who created the Thrilling 30 Generations toys are no longer with Hasbro, and all that we've seen to be coming out of the new Hasbro team thus far are those oversized Cyberverse Beast Hunters toys and the simplistic AOE Optimus toy. With the inmates no longer running the asylum, who knows what kind of toys could be coming for future generations of Generations. The aesthetic might even change again for the fourth time.

And, past conventions have had fans asking Hasbro about the prospect of creating a new TF series (be it a cartoon or movie or a video or something) that would essentially be a remake of G1 like what the Generations line currently is. And in all cases, Hasbro has given the same answer: "We try for new ways to move forward, rather than backward, with the brand, and so look to the future with new ideas instead of redoing what came before. We understand what you're asking, but it's not in our plans."

It is possible to have a flown blown G with content mature enough for anything on HBO or Showtime. I can name at least 10, just off the top of my head, but here is the best example I know of:

Image

I'm not kidding, this series is better than any anime, Disney anything, Pixar, doesn't matter. This is from a little known genre from the 1980's called "franime" or french anime. Some of the best minds and talents from the 60's to 2k were involved.

Transformer producers could learn from this gem.

They also made season 2, 30 years later.

Oh yeah. Pretty much anything French made when it comes to 'toons is bad ass. Spartikus & The Sun Beneath The Sea... Skyland...

Mmm... Good stuff...
