can it be disassembled and be put back in its box after done displaying or playing with it?

Yes but I don't recommend doing often. There were already stress marks on the pegs and one peg had broken off. This was assembled once before it was shipped to me.

boy that is unfortunate. how about using the blowdryer on the stress marks that usually does the trick ,and regluing that broken peg with epoxy or superglue? i was thinking of getting it but that can be a problem. especially if one wants to make some space later in the room for other toy displaying stuff or don't want it to collect dust over the course of time by trying to keep it mint. very quick response! like your review! i just finished watching it! it is the best playset i have seen in a long time. thanks!

Those are all good ideas. If you would want to keep it together I could recommend using an acrylic display case but that could take up more space.

an acrylic display case? hmmmmm, interesting idea. thanks!

this is pretty useful! it helps setting the turtle sewer playset up step by step. especially if either of us miss something along the way. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wg4U2H6spLo

TMNT being my second favorite cartoon as a kid (behind TF, duh!) i recently picked up all 4 turtles and Shredder.

Not a big fan of how Nickelodeon updated April O'niel as a bratty little kid (we all remember the sexy vixen she used to be), or how they changed Splinter's back story (although an ex-human as a ninja master is more believable than a rat who practiced moves in his cage).

The best part is, they less than 8 bucks each at Wally World, and at that price you can do some awesome army building with the Foot Clan soldier figures. I will probably pick up the Turtle van also, and hope this line is successful enough to give us more members, like that Baxter (?) guy who got mutated into a fly, and my all time favorite, the Rat King.

giggitty giggitty! just discovered the TRU excluse 11" versions and ordered Mikey and Don...totally psyched and dont even mind the missing elbow joint!

Best of all...act fast and the are BOGO 1/2 at the TRU store...(but I only bought two at a time after discovering that adding all 4 to my cart only resulted in getting the discount on 1 of them...)

The only thing I dont really like is the preview I saw of how they are turning the Rat King into an Undertaker-like character...and I always preferred the mutant fly Baxter Stockman over the wanna-be cyborg version.

Still, the 4 turtles are totally awesome figs...nice quality plastic, good articulation...a ny old school turtles fans need to pick these up for the Nostalgia Awesome factor!

I love the new TMNT toys, they're very cool!
I also got the classics collection, but they were very expensive! I found Don and Mikey in Cali when I was there for about 20 bucks each, but they didn't have Leo and Raph, so my Wife ordered them for me online, but they were about 40 bucks each, I never saw them out in stores here in VA!

I'm actually doing some customizations to my new TMNT, not the classics though, I'll love as is..., I'm changing the plastic chains with metal chains and total repaints on all 4, I'll make sure to post pics when I'm done with this project!

you'll be amazed at how easy it is...
I got the chains and eye pins from michaels, they have all kinds, just choose whichever style you like, this is the closest I could get to resemble the plastic ones.

1) cut the plastic chains
2) cut the eye pins down to a quarter inch or half inch
3) heat up the eye pins and stick them in the plastic, it'll go in like butter!, no need to drill.
4) cut your chain to the length you want
5) open the "eye" on the eye pins and stick the chain through it!

there you go!, you got a cool set of weapons!

I think the painting part is going to be a pain... since the arm joints are very tight, you need to sand them down in order for the paint not to come off when you move their arms...

but we'll see, I'll post the pics when they're all set! ;)

The chains aren't going anywhere... the heat of the eye pin and the plastic will make it tough to come out once it cools down (after a few seconds), could be a fun project between you and your son... ;)^

I put chains on mine too. Did you add them on Donatello's triple staff as well?

here's the eyes of the other turtles. man they are hard as hell to find in department stores. i've only seen them once at toy r us for $19.99. neither walmart or target has them in their department stores. and i know it would of been cheaper on either of those two for $14.99 - $14.97. looks like they won't put them at their department stores. even though they have them on online ,and they probably charge for shipping and handling. i'd rather pay store tax than shipping and handling.

Oh... I thought u painted the eyes, the eyes on the classics are a mess, u should see the ones I have... they look looney! U can always repaint them though... Just some gloss white and black acrylic will do it! But I agree with u, I had to buy them online... expensive too!

They are some issues with Leonardo. The blue bleeds a little on the corners on the white areas of his eyes but his pupils are fine. One eye of Ralph's is a little derpy while the other is fine. The others their eyes are fine. Including Donatello's. The letter on their belts the yellow paint there bleeds on the black center of their belts but it is minor. I don't want to paint them. Cause I'm not too practical and I don't want to make them worse. But I wish that they were more careful with the paint quality on those areas. It could of been better. Online can be quite expensive due to shipping costs. I went to the tru store and I hand picked them there. They had a few to pick on there for the very first time too. They are hard to find. Only Toys r us has them in their department stores. Depending which one. Cause many barely have them right now. They increased the price too from $17.99 to $19.99. I wish they had kept them at the previous price but they have the habit of doing this. The turtle sewer playset started at $119.99. Shortly after it went for $129.99. Now it is $139.99 It is getting ridiculous some of their prices. There are like 3 or 4 sewer playset boxes and aren't moving there. They've had them there for weeks now. It is too steep.

I started collecting the new TMNT line about 2 weeks ago after watching it's new cartoon. Right now I have the "Basic" Donatello, Michelangelo, Leonardo, and Metalhead figures.

Sorry about Mikey's face being so bright

I got myself my son the Sewer Lair for Christmas. Man! This thing is HUGE! Took a bit to put it together but it was totally worth it. He was very pleased. :-)
