Knock Offs

Because there's no complete TF Discussion if we don't talk about Knock Offs

Here's my first Review: Transformable: Super Power Series

This Knock Off Line is one of the most impressive Chinese Bootlegs ever made (in my opinion).

The "Wave-1" of this line has Knock off versions of Robot Masters Optimus Prime, G1 Hot Rod, Soundblaster, Perceptor and Powermaster Optimus Prime

Wave-1 Blister
Image

We saw bootlegs with ripped off TF Artwork, but the Bootleggers ripped the Japanese manual (They even put the Japanese Transformers logo)!

Wave-1 Figures

HOT ROD/HOT RODIMUS: Well, the bootleggers did a REALLY good job in this toy, they respected the colors of Hot Rod, but the flames of his chest are painted and not a sticker, he has metallic stickers and the metal parts, but the cockpit glass is not transparent, Hot Rod comes packaged with his Targetmaster Firebolt.

Hot Rod in Vehicle Mode

Targetmaster Firebolt

SOUNDBLASTER: The second figure in this wave, he comes packaged with Buzzsaw, and like Hot Rod, he has metallic stickers (I added him a Decepticon symbol from other KO), he has his missile launcher, a gun and three missiles.

Soundblaster, Buzzsaw and Ravage in Walkman & Cassette Modes
Image

Soundblaster, Buzzsaw and Ravage in Robot Mode
Image

PERCEPTOR: Third figure in the line Very impressive, and detailed for be a Knock Off, it has the same stuff like Soundblaster and Hot Rod, Perceptor comes packaged with Ravage.

Perceptor in Microscope Mode
Image

Perceptor in Robot Mode
Image

ROBOT MASTERS CONVOY: Fourth figure, ignoring the simple colorscheme, this figure includes everything except the front for the trailer (And it's oversized than the original).

RM Convoy in Robot Mode (Size comparison with Energon Optimus Prime)
Image

RM Convoy in Vehicle Mode (Again with E-Prime)
Image

POWERMASTER OPTIMUS PRIME: Well, they resumed his Transformation because he doesn't transform in a Truck, his Transformation is the TRAILER!!, it cames packaged with a Galaxy Convoy cannon, and the cannon has lights! (Like the laser pointers)
Image

It looks like the line was successful because they made a Wave-2

Wave-2 Blister (It's bigger than Supreme Starscream box)
Image

The Wave-2 has Knock Off versions of the Legends of Cybertron figures
Image
Image

In Mexico the only figure who arrived was the Legends of Cybertron Optimus Prime (The chinese give him the Super Mode Weapons and Wings!, the legs of this figure are from the RM Convoy)
Image

The wings are not of plastic, they're from cardboard, so take care of them.
Image

The LOC OP in Vehicle Mode
Image

Figures of Wave-2
- LOC Optimus Prime
- LOC Starscream
- LOC Hot-Shot
- LOC Scourge
- LOC Megatron
- LOC Evac
- LOC Jetfire

Quality of figures: The figures of both waves have a good quality, are perfect for repair G1 toys, or for complete your collection.

I actually like the legs on that knock-off LOC Op better than the proper legs.

how much did the loc knockoffs cost and does that box have all the figs mentioned?

Well, the Wave-1 figures costed 85 pesos (8.5 dollars) and the LOC 135 pesos (13.5 dollars), but unfortunately the shops didn't released more TF KO's.

My brother and I got one of these sets on ebay for $55 shipped. It included every figure in this thread. There were also leg extensions for Soundblaster and Percepter. They were pretty darn stupid. My brother is keeping Soundblaster and his accessories, and I'm keeping the Prime guys, but if someone is interested in the Hot Rod or Perceptor, I'd be willing to part with them.

I'd take you up on that, except I'd like to have the Soundblaster as well. The jury is out on PMOP because there wasn't enough shown in this thread. Does it transform at all?

Also, can you tell me what they are listed as on ebay? I can't pull them up in a search.

The Powermaster Optimus Prime transforms into a trailer, isn't that exciting? I'm seriously, that's all he transforms into.

That auction has ended, but every now and then decepticon zero will put up another auction for the lot. From what I've seen they generally only get one bid. At first I thought $40 was a steal, but having the figures in hand I now think that $40 is just a tad too much.

Also, that Soundblaster does indeed hold two cassettes if you cut off a tiny tab inside of him. There's an unecessary hinge to help hold his right arm in place. I cut it away and now legit cassettes will fit in him, but the bootleg cassettes are just a tad awkward in tape mode so they may give you trouble.

Well, i found this two Knocks in Madero City.

G1 Cyclonus & Destron Sixwing

Destron Sixwing packaged

Destron Sixwing with a KO Autobot Sixwing

Destron Sixwings (Vehicle Mode)

Quality of the figures

G1 Cyclonus: Acceptable for a KO, it just needs a good repaint for pass him like an original (Recommended).

Destron Sixwing: 99% Accurate to the original, the 1% missing is because he doesn't have Decepticon symbols, the figures are resistant (Recommended).

cyclonus is a nice looking knock off

I have the Autobot Sixwing bootlegs and they're pretty awesome too. They're pretty darn close to the official bots except for the pins that hold the wheels in. The heads of the pins are too small so the wheels are very loose an giggle around.

Damn! I keep spending ALL my money on the real deals and these look incredible! KO's have come a long way since I used to buy them!

I also like the look of a white cyclonus!

This topic must be as "Sticky" or "Pinned", because the KO's are very important information for the fans.

I thint the Cyclonus figure is also oversized. I don't have the original with me, but I noticed that mine is bigger than most of the other figures about the same size as original Cyclonus.

Another KO that i want to show you: R.I.D. X-Brawn from the "Space Flying Ranger" line.

In his blister
Image

Vehicle Mode (I have to scratch some parts with sandpaper for make it transform, well i sand the left arm and the union Arm/Car Front)
Image
Image
Image

Robot Mode (With his weapons, the one in the left shoulder can't fit normally, and i had to use some duct tape for the second pic)
Image
Image

Quality: Regular, because it was made of the same plastic than the Beast Wars KO's, and has the size of the other Autobot Brothers, this figure is ideal for customs (I made X-Bardiel with this KO)

The Space Flying Ranger line has this figures
- R.I.D. X-Brawn
- Beast Wars KO's (Cicadacon, Blackarachnia)
- Generic Transformable Motorcycles

Quick Change Transforming Set: X-Gunner (Robot Masters)
Image

Quick Change Transforming System: Car Robots Shuttler & Hepter (I bought it for replace a broken Hepter.)
Image

Hepter can't move his arms, but he can combine to form Baldigus

BTW, does anyone know where I can get an oversized Dinoking/Pretender monster set? I need one for a custom set I've been contemplating.
