Actually, killing Optimus has become part of the lore. G1 established it. It's happened in Beast Wars, Armada, Revenge of the Fallen, Animated, and now here.

Except when a character dies in this show, they stay dead and they don't come back.

So they have said, however whether they stick to it isn't necessarily up to them.

Well, if Hasbro wants to sell Optimus toys and they want him alive, and the writers want to stick to this motto, then they just don't kill Optimus. Put him in stasis until Ultra Magnus bangs him with The Hammer.

Uh....besides, it's not like Hasbro cares whether or not anyone else dies besides the moneymakers Optimus & Bumblebee.

Optimus' crest is longer.

Yeah, OP's is longer, but they are the same shape... If Smokescreen becomes a Prime, obviously lots of attributes change or get bigger while maintaining some similarity.

Turn them blue...then remove them. BH Optimus doesn't have those pieces on his face.

Look again at Prime...he has shapes going down the center of his head in the same place and shape as Smokescreen's.

Today as I came home, I looked up at my BH OP and thought of something else...the breast plate arrangement is similar to Smokesceen's also...shrug...who knows.

As I said before, this is ALL SPECULATION... so why some people are getting all bent out of shape is beyond me. Some people just need to chill...

Is it such a HORRIBLE idea that SS could become a Prime?? Optimus was once Orion Pax, a lowly clerk a record keeper...Funny, that record keeper was trained and taught by Alpha Trion...Oh wait, who else did Alpha Trio take under his wing AND hide the last key of the Omega Lock in??? Of yeah...Smokescreen

We will see soon enough...till then, it's fun to think about
