Hi guys, I haven't posted in ages, just swinging by to say that this finale kicked ass.

I wonder what the status quo is going to be in season 2 though.

According to series writer Steven Melching, there will be no status quo in season 3. ;)

So does that mean that the ever-infamous "when we kill a character, it stays dead" mantra is out the window? Or am I just stupid?

You never know. They might pull an original movie and have Hot Rod Shot take over as boss monkey.

They wouldn't do that because of the awesome that is Peter Cullen. ;)

We won't know until next season, but there's probably a 99% chance he's alive.

My own WAG? The last shot, when it looks like he's destroying the Ground/Space Bridge with the Star Saber? He's actually cutting off his arm, then jumping through.

Not even waiting for HasTak; got a mook jet and some Bare-Metal chrome on order.

Also, did anyone else think of The Black Knight from Monty Python when Prime took Meg's arm?

Yeah, and Megatron survived ground zero of a space bridge explosion. Optimus is likely just mortally wounded but not quite dead yet.

How can he jump through when the ground/space bridge closed after Ratchet went through?

Well he was standing right next to the controls ... It wouldn't have been hard to turn it back on, then bolt through.

Still though, after the original movie, he still got better. It just took some time, being a zombie, and being in a massive continuity error to get better for him.
Still though, in my humble opinion, he did have the Star Saber, which is extremely powerful and can do some strange things. Emergency force field anyone?

Was I the only one wondering what the heck the human military was doing while the Decepticons invaded Nevada? The only guy they ever seem to have to battle these things is Fowler. I know Optimus said that the human military wouldn't be able to match the decepticons, but it seems to me that Fowler, with one helicopter mind you, was able to hold is own against the entire Decepticon air fleet for a solid while.

I laughed while watching this with my 10 year old son. This episode was just filled with inconsistencies
Megatron could have just killed the Autobots, he did not hesitate with Dreadwing
Prime escaped being surrounded by a dozen Decepticons without a shot being fired from one
Prime used his blade for 10 seconds before Megatron even moved towards him
When Megatron does attack he forgot to drink his RedBull (slow)
Prime is not hurt despite taking a direct hit from the explosion

Prime could have used his cool blue wave to attack the Decepticon ship/fortress
Fowler takes off in a Huey without being hit despite 3 dozen Decepticons firing at them
Fowler singled handedly held off an alien army in a Huey helicopter ( a Huey )
The former unstoppable Insecticons were blowing up like fireworks from one shot

I could go on but its a kid show.... This should not be in the same continuity as WFC, FOC ....

Megatrons crowning victory as inconsistant. LOL you are not looking at the big picture. Megs had this planed the second he heard about the kids. Why kill Prime when he can bran him and his cause as creatures worst then Nazi. By letting Prime take his arm he Megatron is a hero that tried to stop prime. And by letting Prime destroy the Omega lock he has a reason to conquer the stars.
Recap, Megs is a hero, Prime is hitler, autobots war criminals, and earth is spoil of wars.
Also megatron used a weaker setting Vehicons so that humans are seen as a threat. This will unit both Cons, Volictrons and Junkions to support Megatrons war.

It's a classic villain trait to have the heroes bear witness to the world they have come to call home be completely refit and have all that they have fought to protect be eradicated right before their eyes.

padfoo wrote:Prime escaped being surrounded by a dozen Decepticons without a shot being fired from one
He caught them off guard. Plus they were Vehicons. Not exactly the greatest of soldiers (unlike the silver ones we see later). ;)

padfoo wrote:Prime used his blade for 10 seconds before Megatron even moved towards him
Megs didn't expect such a retaliation so soon, since he was getting full of himself when he started mechaforming Earth.

padfoo wrote:When Megatron does attack he forgot to drink his RedBull (slow)
It's a magic sword, you don't have to explain it. :P

padfoo wrote:Prime could have used his cool blue wave to attack the Decepticon ship/fortress
He tried, remember? There were too many enemy troops in the way of his blast to make a hit. No matter how many they destroyed, more just kept coming.

Fowler has the power of plot convenience awesome. 8)

I'm gonna have to side with padfoo on this one. It tottaly makes it lame that we are meant to suspend our belief to such a great extent that everything always works in favour of the good guys. I know, you can't have a human die brutally in a show aimed at kids, but there have got to be ways around doing the scene, like have fowler not get this involved, and maybe have some no name humans go against the Cons, that way when they "die" there isn't much heartache.

From watching Wolverine and the X-men, which is also a kids show even if there are tons of adults, maybe even more than TF fans, who watch it, that show has much less of the need to suspend belief. I like TF Prime, but I agree with the fact that it often makes things waaayy to exagerated. Even kids would eventually stop caring for the good guys when they are almost always alright.

A great example of a time when the intensity of the action was completely in line with how things should turn out is when Megatron and Prime fight by the erupting Volcano. The entire scene, start to finish, was fine with me, and even the way Prime escaped wasn't so unbelievable... More of that, please. I'm tired of seeing Insecticons die so quickly after they began as being, individually, a foe for Megatron himself.

Has anyone else brought up the fact that Arachnid (airachnid) was in a stasis pod in the relic storage bays? We don't know if she was able to escape stasis...this may put yet another key figure BACK into play ...effectively giving Megatron more trouble.

How did Megatron know the location to their base? Simple. Psychic Cortical Patch with Smokescreen. Nuf Said.

I think Ratchet walking out of the Space bridge was another thing that didn't sit well with me, why would he walk, he needs to be in disguise. I have only one thing to draw from not hearing his transformation sequence before exiting the ground bridge.

That he is bridging to another location, a separate fallout shelter of sorts, or an emergency base of operations. Somewhere, that if he bridged in, he would not have to be in vehicle mode.

Prime's arm...Yeah..that could just be that. Megatron looses an arm, so does prime, it's happened before.

Just because his arm is in the rubble does not mean he is...and I have this bad feeling about seeing a MEGATRON with Optimus' arm.

These are kinda my thoughts on some of the stuff that was going on.

That, and the Decepticons have been locating the base through the residence of the children. Both factored in to finding it's approximate location.

And it's a cortical psychic patch. :P
