Motorthing wrote:Totally and utterly pointless. We get few enough of these things and to blow a slot on this is pretty unforgivable. I already have all the MP Starscream I'm ever going to need. And Skywarp, and Thundercracker and I never cared enough about the coneheads to want to spend MP money on them so enough is definitely enough.
Somewhere Waylon Smithers is shouting and pointing "but he has a new hat.....!!!"
New characters only Hastak or you don't get my money from now on.
It's not a wasted slot. it cost next to nothing to keep pumping out recolors & remolds.
Recolors & remolds serve a purpose. they keep milking the molds for more profit. while older molds are being milked for more profit, this allows Takara/Hasbro more time to focus on creating newer molds & making them more awesome.
I suspect the grey parts on the figure are to represent the death scene of Starscream when galvatron kills him.
$200 is a bit much for a recolor & remold. I already own a few of this mold & don't need anymore.
I'm not impressed with the remolded parts enough to throw down another $200 on this mold.
I wonder if or when a 3rd party company will re-create that cool looking plastic sculpted cape, crown & shoulder pads. I already own the cornoation kit that includes the kings crown, cloth cape & shoulder pads. I want the cape it looks like a gundam robot cape or like batman's cape.

This new price point for the MP line is even lamer than the unnecessary reboot. Are these stupid accessories supposed to make up the more than $100 difference of the previous versions? They're not doing a very good job answering iGear's bell by putting out similar product for twice the price...
Comparing a liscensed mold to a un-liscensed 3rd party mold is like comparing gold versus copper. the lisecensed mold most of the time is more superior due to it having stonger, more exspensive materials, better quality control & the sheer fact it's worth more on the secondary market.
Kibble wrote:What's worse, if the pics are accurate, this thing looks to only be a retool of the previous mold! Basically a rip-off of iGear's rip-off. Sorry, but if there's any hope of suckering me to buy an unnecessary figure at TWICE the price, you need an entirely new design! No way in hell I'm dishing out $200+ a pop for the leg/hip kibble mod and a coronation kit that just about anyone who cares about it already purchased for their current version.
So were upset about 3rd party companies getting ripped off by liscensed companies, are you serious?
Igear deserves to get ripped off by Takara/Hasbro,they started it & now takara/hasbro is gonna finsish it.
I love buying 3rd party TF toys but I ain't gonna defend them for getting ripped off by liscensed companies. they deserve it because they started it first. don't start something if you can't handle the consequences later on.
As Fans, this is none of our business,we are just buyers. this business of getting upset & bent out of shape belongs to the liscensed & unliscensed companies.
Have you been paying attention to the MP QC of late? This is simply inaccurate. All things being equal, I'd buy the official product. For twice the price for basically the same thing...if I were actually going to buy a modded MP seeker, honestly I'd buy the iGear one for half the price. Mind you, I plan to just stick with the original versions I already have, but that's beside the point.[/quote]
IMHO,Masterpiece TF toys receive the most bashing by fans for a few reasons like as follows: (1) the price tag, fans think because their paying those high prices they deserve SUPER EXTREME ULTRA PERFECTION. (2) Half the internet fans complaining about masterpiece TF toys don't even own any of the molds. they just like to complain to ruin/steal away the joy for those of us who actually own the molds & can afford them. (3) the majority of the internet TF fans prefer quanity over quality. most would rather own 50+ inferior legends sized TF toys for the same price a masterpiece TF toy cost from Takara. most fans don't like the bigger molds nor appreciate the effort that goes into them. it's leaps & bounds easier to create a smaller mold & tons harder to create a bigger TF toy mold.
