or instead of always creating new shows from scratch, do what they did with TMNT and He-Man, take the original show and just update/reboot it. again it could open the door for Cullen's return. :P

1) If they do a series based on the movies then they would have to share profits with Paramount, in other words, it's not in their best financial business.

2) It's been done already see http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Generation_2_(cartoon)

I'm guessing you never watched the G2 cartoon. It wasn't an update, it was the same cartoon with stupid cg scene transitions added in. If anything I would consider Animated to be close to the type of update Bouncy X is describing.

You guess wrong.

I saw the G2 as it aired and was both pleased to see the episodes and ticked (to put it nicely) that they needed to add the crap to it. It did count as a reboot as they did market it as a different series than G1 (despite that it exactly was just that) and had you only watched G2 episodes, it stood on it's own.

Amimated also counts as a reboot as it doesn't require you to have any previous knowledge of TF's. If you simply want an update to G1, it was called Beast Wars. It might not have been an immediate continuation but it did update us, and was shown to be in the same timestream.

I would like to see a remake of the G1 cartoon ala IDW or Dreamwave. Same characters, similar transformations, different story.

I wouldn't mind a cartoon based in the movieverse, though I'd probably prefer something else, some new take. A show to go along with the Universe line would be entertaining, and allow Hasbro to explore onscreen the TF multiverse theory that we've seen in the comics by using G1 based, AEC based, and BW based characters.

Or, of course, they could do "TransFormers: Shattered Glass" but that'll never happen.

Darkman20xx wrote:Eventhough I know it won't happen I would like to see the new Cartoon be darker and maybe themed towards older people. Sort of like the 80's animated movie. If they used the comics for source material and then made the show have that same sense of maturity it would be great. However at the end of the day I think Hasbro believes that the older fans are gonna buy whatever they shell out just because we're collectors and the bigger base to concentrate on are the kiddies. At the end of the day can we blame them? After all collectible is just a mature word for toy right?

I keep hearing people say this. I believe that if they do that we will end up with more haters than Animated did. Seriously, it's a kid's show/toyline. To me personally that's it's biggest appeal, it takes me back to when I was a kid and TF just started. Makes me remember when the only thing I had to worry about was if my father's mustang was a Decepticon in hiding. But that's just me.

I don't think it would have more haters because in essence it's comedic nature is what I think the people who disliked Animated hated. Do I really need a half hour laughing at Bulkhead's dumb ass falling over and the stupid chief of police getting blown up like Wile Coyote and walking away from it? An older themed show could easily be as successful as a youth based one. Look at how successful shows like Bleach and Naruto have been with Children (even though they weren't necessarily geared towards them.) Another example would be the updated Wolverine and The X-Men show. It has a darker tone than most of the previous X-Men shows and it's still successful. And before anyone says anything about how their toys don't sell it has nothing to do with the show, it's just that those toys suck. Nothing on the X-Men figures of old.
