It's very sad news indeed. It's just not something I would care to discuss on a message board like this one. If we have users from that area who want to discuss it, they're free to.

Yet it's frowned upon for international users of the board to stimulate discussion?

It may be tit-for-tattle, but you appear to be implying that it is a matter to be discussed by users 'from that area'?

Just because I'm a moderator does not mean that I have to avoid giving my opinion on matters and it does not mean I am setting policy on a topic by stating my opinion.
If and when I actually take action on the matter, that's a different story.

It was stated that the man was saying he is a warrior defending the Western World from muslims. He isn't from the Western world and he wasn't targeting muslims, but his own countrymen. It sounds like it is a psychopath killing people and then making up a story afterward.

That's the highest unless the judge determines that the person poses a continuing threat to the public and then it can be extended as necessary.

I thought they were going to get him up for Crimes Against Humanity? Wouldn't that mean he would be put on trial at the Hague?

Don't know about that, but what my local news said is that he's getting rather luxurious imprisonment. Not only that, he gets to order himself some specific meat-dishes! Something from the Islamic lands. And although it was said to me that it's for so that he couldn't speak with anyone from the outside, I still find it wrong.
Because basically he gets to live in luxurious prison, eating exotic meat after such a tremendous act against humans! My father told me that in the Soviet-era such guys would just "disappear" from prisons and would never be seen again.
Did you know that he wanted an open trial and that he wanted to perform there, wearing a military-uniform? Thankfully, both requests were denied. He ain't gonna get no sympathy from me, my sympathy is with the families of the lost.
