Which is why this fan is close to giving up on a proper "aligned" toyline to collect for years to come. I'll keep an eye out for the odd figure that can be repurposed for my Classics/Neo-G1 collection, but that's about it.

Well, the differences between each portion are essentially as distinctive as the toylines of other "sequel" series. Beast Wars and Beast Machines are one continuity but with separate aesthetics, Armada/Energon/Cybertron are one continuity with three aesthetics, etc. etc.

Like how there's no single toyline for those, there's no single Aligned toyline either. Two Beast Era toylines, three Unicron Trilogy toylines, and three Aligned toylines (Generations "WFC/FOC", Prime, and Rescue Bots). ;)

True, but the Unicon Trillogy toys are a LOT close together in aesthetics than any of the aligned continuity toylines so far. You can put them together on a shelf and pick your favorite representation of characters that got several different versions, and they will more or less look coherent together. Even with Beast Machines, you could almost ignore the Maximal molds completely and stick in the Vehicons with the few new characters and your favorite character representations from Beast Wars proper to round out that "shelf" if you wish (Before any Beast Machines fans cry out in rage, I assure you, I say most of this with tongue in cheek). ;)

Also, I don't think many fans want to mix in the WfC/FoC figures or the Rescue Bots figures with their Prime displays. WfC and Foc were always designed with G1 aesthetics in mind, even if it's a part of the "aligned" continuity. The fact that those character designs are for Cybertronian forms, where Prime is mostly earth-based vehicles, just makes that distinction all the easier for fans to make. Finally, there's plenty overlap between the character rosters of each toyline. Add in a Prime version of Sideswipe, Jazz, and maybe Blaster, and you're good to go, really. Rescue Bots is just its own thing for its own target demo, regardless of being (nominally) part of the aligned continuity.

It would be nice if the next cartoon could at least "fit" alongside Prime, even if it does something a little different with the look or theme, much as how I described the compatibility of the Unicron Trilogy toylines, despite their distinctions from one another.

For as big as those voyagers are, $20 seems like a good price. I know its just marketing, but giving that much for $20 compared to what you get for $13 doesn't make sense.

Also, I'm not sure Hasbrotoyshop ever dropped the higher Deluxe class price tag. So, to say that the prices are going back up again seems a tad hasty.

Definition of Muricans - An impolite way of saying "American" (or a polite way of saying "Americunt") while wanting to project a sense to dislike towards that country

Don't get your panties in a bunch.

And you don't help your case any by not caring where the figures cost elsewhere in the world - self-centered much?

Besides, sadly 'muricans is an appropriate slur b/c we got A LOT of ignoramuses here.

Why would any American care what they cost in Timbuktu? Do we live there? NO.

And no, it is not an appropriate thing to say to anyone. You call the majority of people here idiots. All but you right?

You are using a set of figures that have very minimal development costs. All they did was upsize the molds they already have, which is much cheaper than creating it from scratch. I know at Meijer they are 19.99 but the Generations voyagers are 24.99 and I think it is similar at Target. Might be 22.99 for them there though.

We will see when they TF4 figures come out. We might score cheaper deluxes because of volume, but I wager the voyagers will go up to 24.99 everywhere.

True, but it's not KO-like upsizing. Rather, ball joints are replaced with universals and swivels, plus some details have been changed. Predaking is all-new, but it does take cues from Beast Fire and the Commander. Looking at it now, I'm skipping him.

Well maybe he gave it as an example because of the civil war happening there. The city did fall to a rebel faction in 2012, though French and Malian forces retook it at the beginning of last year.

It's too bad they wasted these oversized versions of Cyberverse toys on characters that already flood the shelves. I mean, I guess they have to, 'cause marketing and popularity or whatever, but I'm sure just about everyone here* would've preferred a larger Insecticon or Breakdown (even if not the best quality) to yet another Optimus or Predaking.

* Yes, yes, I know "here" makes up maybe 10% of the sales. I don't care.

I also kinda wish they'd do the opposite size-change, Deluxe/Voyager to Cyberverse. Obviously a lot more work is involved, but I'd love to have a Legion Ripclaw and Lazerback and Grimwing to go with Abominus. Oh well, I'm sure AoE will give us plenty of little robot-dragon things to go with them...

You haven't seen Universe 2008 Galvatron have you? He was planned as a Voyager, but shrunk down for marketing purposes ("too many tanks in the Voyager range already"). Look at how he turned out.
