Odd Question: tips on sharpening a machete?

Weapon: Razor Tipped Wing Swords
Were going out to the woods this weekend, and I've been (Rather half assedly I'll admit) Cleaning and prepping this old Machete of mine. The rust on the sides was no problem, but I don't know how to get around to actually sharpening the darn thing. We have a small slate made for sharpening small hunting knives, but for this, I think I would need something with a bit more size or power. Any ideas?

Weapon: Twin Concussion Blasters
Best thing would be to use a mounted power tool sharpener, same as you would use for a lawn mower blade.

I'd agree that using a bench grinder is probably the easiest way. Gonna be some sparks, so wear some eye protection.

Machetes aren't supposed to be super sharp. They are mad for hacking and putting force into them.

The sharp edge would get trashed under normal machete use.

Yes, but it was so blunt Id'e be better off with a 2X4. The guy who sharpened it knew his stuff, apparently. It was perfect. Not a single problem, and a fun trip.

i dont recommend playing with a machete inside with a computer near. if mine had been a little bit sharper i would have had to get a new laptop on the spot. but its been 2 years since this happened. as far as my parents know i dropped my laptop on a hard object.
