Crosshairs just oozes charisma and his mold works well for what you get.
High Octane Bumblebee is lightweight (literally), but fantastic. Gorgeous paint apps.
Scorn looks vicious in beast mode, and very much a jousting knight in 'bot mode. (might be my favorite.)
Slug is a bit odd, and his transformation (the arms, specifically) gets on my nerves a bit, but his bot mode looks great.

Which is the most complex figure of the lot? And does crosshair's vehicle kibble work as a cape or does it look more like a backpack?

Also... photos? Please? Pretty please with a cherry on top?

A toss up between Scorn and Slug. Scorn is more involved and Automorphs, but Slug's parts get in the way of each other and it's frustrating. As for Crosshairs, it depends on how you manipulate it. It will look like a trench coat/cape if you do it just right. Avoid the rubber pieces, they're crap.

I am really intrigued by that last bit. What do you mean by avoiding the rubber pieces? Are you referring to the transformation?

You may not have noticed, but this is a megathread that incorporates any piece of Age of Extinction product. So while whatever post you may have read only contained one piece of product c the discussion forum used is the one used by all. So sorry if I didn't get your vagueness.

You know, this whole A.o.E thing has only made me genuinely interested in, and wonder, what other Beast-Era molds may, or may not be used in general. Because there's the club's use of Beast Wars II Dirgegun (1998), A.o.E's use of Beast Wars Terrorsaur (1996) and Beast Wars Neo Guiledart (1999).

Not only an old mold from the previous movie, but doesn't have the same weapons/accessories.

Did Hasbro just kind of phone it in this time out? Mind you I don't blame them for NOT really wanting to make a 'new' Bumblebee mold. Hopefully they figured the deluxe was enough innovation for BBee this time out. Five/Ten BBees per movie gets really old, REALLY fast.

I got my first batch of figures.

Leader Grimlock- Amazing until I transformed it. The lanky T Rex mode didn't bother me, but the now peeling chrome does.

Hasbro. We should know better by now than to put chrome on toys.

Leader Prime- He's alright. It will be impossible to match up tot he amazingness of ROTF leader Prime. The backpack kibble can be frustrating on this figure, but at least he feels solid.

Crosshairs- I was really looking forward to him, but the backpack kibble and the attempt for the trenchcoat takes away from a lot of the potential this figure had. He would really benefit from a Human Alliance sized figure

Scorn- Great figure overall. definite recommended purchase. Also he totally looks like a jousting knnight when riding Grimlock.

Slug- Also a great figure. Only nit pick is the use of rubber

Overall, My main complaints lay in backpack kibble, chrome, and rubber parts. 10 years from now, I don't see the rubber lasting on these figures.

While I agree that Animated is a shining light that no one expected and one of my all time favourite lines, I disagree that everything movie related has sucked since the first film.

What about ROTF Leader Optimus, Leader Starscream,Leader Sentinel Prime, Terradive, Bludgeon, Powerdive, Mindwipe and the "movie versions" of Lugnut and Lockdown? And better yet, I have realized that thanks to the movie lines, transformers have gotten a lot more complex and that line defiantely lead way to the eventual generations line.

After seeing the listings on HTS and doing the math, I think I may forego any of the Movie "Generations" toys in favor of Construct-bots. Construct-bot versions of Grimlock, Slug, Scorn, Strafe, and Slash come to $50, versus $85 for their Generations counterparts, and I imagine the Construct-bot versions are a good deal bigger than the deluxes.

If we get G1-style repaints of the Dinobots this Fall, I'll scoop those up, but I have to be a lot more selective with my spending in the summer, and the AoE "Generations" figures aren't making the cut, I'm afraid.

Edit: On the other hand, I see a lot of design changes in the new Construct-Bots that I really don't like.
Check out my books, Titanomachies and Divine Retribution, on my blog!

I can't help but find it slightly amusing/depressing hat after years of clamouring for the return of chrome to Transformers toys, when Hasbro finally gives it to them the community starts complaining about it.

Who's been clamoring for chrome to return? When it returned with the Henkei! Henkei! figures, I remember that stirring plenty of complaints.

Though I'd usually be inclined to jump onto the Bumblebee hate wagon, with this I'm actually rather happy. Since it's inevitable that there shall be shelfwarmers from any TF toyline, I'd rather the shelfwarmer be a redeco, and not another waste of time and engineering skills.
