You want the brand to become more broken, then? You honestly prefer names that hardly make sense for robots than names that do make sense?Shadowstream wrote:Well they need to stopSabrblade wrote:Too late. Given how they treat series like Beast Wars and Prime over there, I don't see why not.Sabrblade wrote:You want the brand to become more broken, then? It's FunPub. It's their specialty.
They want the brand to have the same names in each market so as to create a greater sense of unity and consistency throughout the whole brand. They're even referring to classic G1 characters by their American names, like that new G1 manga that's out now calls Optimus Prime "Oputimasu Puraimu" instead of "Konboi". It's Hasbro's brand, might as well have Takara stop doing things different for the sake of difference.Shadowstream wrote:Given how they treat series like Beast Wars and Prime over there, I don't see why not.Sabrblade wrote:You want the brand to become more broken, then? And yet this disqualifies the dub of the actual series from following suit how? I know this is the wrong place for this and completely off topic, but the fact is japan treats their dubs of our shows like comedies, which is hardly unifying as far as I'm concerned.Sabrblade wrote:They want the brand to have the same names in each market so as to create a greater sense of unity and consistency throughout the whole brand. Name-wise. The dub tones differ to suit the mentality of the Japanese demographic, who generally view giant self-operated mecha robots without pilots as being kiddie. Imagine their surprise when they saw the movies.Shadowstream wrote:And yet this disqualifies the dub of the actual series from following suit how?
