Yeah, I feel the same way about Lazorback and voyager Predaking; they look really cool in their dragon modes. I think after I get a nice complete set of Preds I'll leave them in their beast modes in my Prime display.

Ripclaw's a lovely kind of ugly, but I'm really not digging how all these Predacons are quadrupedal dragons that turn into bipedal dragons. We need sea serpents, Tarasques, Hydras, Chinese dragons, dragons too many or too few legs, fat froggy dragons, pun-tastic dragonfly dragons; all of which do more than stand up to transform.

Rear leg configuration is different to the other picture. And the colour scheme is horrible.

The colours are terrible, the alt mode is atrocious and the head sculpt reminds me of that little toaster misfit, Ejector. I'm sold!

Funny, to me Beast Wars + Animated sounds like Awesome
Though this and Lazorback seem to be really simple to transform, I dig the colours and aesthetic. Reminds me of Cybertron Scourge.

These look so much like the old Beast Wars Transmetal figures.

And not in a good way.

At least there isn't any flaky chrome paint on these.

I suppose it also has a Cybertron feel to it, but it seems to be mainly Beast Wars.

Until Ripclaw shows up with some high heels, bubblegum pink paint, long hair, lipstick or discernible breasts... I'm certainly not going to fault anyone for accidentally saying "he." I'm just going to let that slide. ;)

Or conversely, if Ripclaw shows up with a buzz cut, cowboy boots, flannel shirt, tool belt, and an Ani Difranco shirt... that will do just fine, too.

I just wish I could tell these robots were femmes... one way or another. :BANG_HEAD:

If anyone needs me, I'm going to go dig out my Botcon set with the three femmebot motorcycles.

I think Ripclaw looks awesome. Way better than Lazerback. Love the colors. Gonna be a must-buy for me.

It does have one problem, though - a problem it shares with Thundertron: backwards knees. Do the designers not know how the hind legs of animals work?

I think that's the one place in the beasts that designers often fudge. I think they design the front end in the morning, and by the time it reaches about 4pm and they're designing the animal's butt-end, they're ready to go home.

These beasts are more for display than action. That's why they have funky limbs.

In the fine print at the bottom of the package it says:

"Please use your imagination to add the transformation "cha-cha-cha-chaaak" noise... and for the back legs. Save some imagination for the back legs, too."

If they're going for display value instead of action, that's all the more reason they should have legs that look correct. They HAVE managed to get it right on some past figures:

The legs are visually correct; they're dragons.

Dragon knees bend backwards? Not Scourge's.

Also, Thundertron isn't a dragon, and he has the same backwards knees.

TFU protects their images. You can't link them here.

Also, I was reasoning Ripclaw and any other future Beast Hunters Predacons with these limbs. This does not include Thundertron.

OK, fine, whatever. Are you telling me that dragons have backwards knees, that this is how they're depicted in the TF fiction, and Scourge was a mistake?

Yeah! Our imaginary dragons and flame-blue tigers with pirate peg legs DO need to be anatomically correct!

LOL. But I actually really DO prefer their legs look right.

If only we could pull the chicken/dog legs off of all the MOVIE toys and transplant them on these beasties. (Looking at you, movie Starscream. Yeah, you BETTER be afraid.) 8)

So in the Beast Hunters universe, dragons have backwards knees. Hasbro established this in the fiction, so the toy designers were going for accuracy. I see.

Hasbro's changed their design aesthetic. How in the hell do you know Ripclaw/Ser-Ket's dragon legs aren't supposed to be designed like that in fiction as well? Then, the "backwards knees" aren't a mistake and you can't legitimately complain about them. >:oP

Well, I think stepping back — away from even the Transformers line in general — you DO see more dog-leg style dragons in the fantasy world. BUT I get your point... it's fantasy, so this line could decide to do their own thing.

Me? I'm a dog-leg-dragon kinda guy.
