TFW is saying that it's been confirmed as a TRU exclusive and the rumor of a wider release was exactly that.

Masterpiece-Optimus-Prime
We have an update on the rumor that we reported on yesterday, regarding the possibility of a wide release for Masterpiece Optimus Prime, the domestic release of Takara-Tomy's MP-10 Convoy Version 2. Contrary to previous reports we have received confirmation from a trusted source at Toys R Us that Masterpiece Optimus Prime will be a Toys R Us exclusive - regrettably if you want to own this one, you will need to camp out at your local TRU stores rather than just waltzing into Walmart.

We apologise for any misdirection caused by our earlier report.

If $99.99 is indeed the price, than this must be the divine providence of Vector Sigma , because I was telling my wife about MP Prime last night and assured her that I would not buy it if it was more than $100.

Hopefully it'll come out at the end of August, if not September because if I can pull the cash together for it it's not going to be until around then... lest I wish to make myself uncomfortable anyway :/ Just spent $260 on something frivolous last week...

The price point is good...The fact that it will just be easier for those scumbag scalpers to score multiples is what angers me..

Where I live there is 1 tru within 100 miles and every exclusive they have had scalpers in my area clean them out. It's to the point where I feel like I need to grease some palms to the workers at TRU to get a toy >:|

Is your TRU willing to hold a toy for the day? Or a few hours? Worth asking, at any rate.

This is a good toy.

If you have the money to buy one and you don't buy one, you are a bad person.

Is that before or after sales tax? :P

For Primus' sake! Get the big lug once it's available! You won't regret it! Already have the Takara version, (didn't eat for a week because of the prchase  ) but it was sure worth it!

Not too sure on the quality of the plastic but US$ 100.00 is a virtual steal! I hope we hear less of the bellyaching about, wish the trailer wasn't included or the price is still too high...........sheesh! Take it or leave it!

$85 and $50 or lower would have been more palatable for MP Prime and TC, but I want these so bad I'll pay full retail. Initially, I was gonna pass on Prime, but a friend of mine said he's vastly superior to the first mold (still find it hard to believe!) and I've always wanted a nice trailer. (Heck, it'd be $99 just for a MP-1 trailer alone wouldn't it?). Hopefully TRU will have a good online sale or some type of in store coupon to soften the blow. Now we just need to know when these SOBs are comin out!!

2 to a shelf??? assuming toys r us gets a shipment once a week that means each toys r us will only sell a total of about 44-50 until christmas assuming they’re in stores till then. on top of that the first scalper sitting at the store at 8:30 in the morning is gonna pick up both
