Hmmm... That redering makes it look a lot better than the model formed with the plastic on the sprue will look like. Looks like the cab will be dark blue, with white stickers all over it. I wonder how well they will stick, with all those molded lines on the cab.

this looks like something more for model kit fans who like to paint the kits for better appearance.

It looks like it would be a pretty easy procedure to spray paint the cab and other sections white if they need to be. I guess it all comes down to how much it costs to obtain a kit. Something like this might go for about US$5 overseas, but by the time you get them via eBay or another online retailer the international shipping makes the price jump up to around $20-30. At that price it is not worthwhile to have to put a lot of effort into a small model in order to make it more accurate. Especially a model with molded non-turning wheel.

In short, I would buy these if I could get them for $5 each. But since it is unlikely that will happen....

I'm excited, this kit appears to be molded with much more detail than the ones in the previous set. Meaning I can actually just paint it to make it look right, unlike the last ones where using the stickers was pretty well mandatory if you wanted any detail at all. Bring 'em on!

Oooh. I love trinkets like this. If these ever came to the US, I'd buy up the whole set in a heartbeat.

As it stands, there's not enough draw to get me to import/BBTS prices.

They're neat, just not THAT neat.

I'd love to see that Prowl in comparison to G1 Prowl. I've often wished Classics Prowl was the size of a Basic.

It's too bad they didn't paint the cab in white just like the arm joint/ missiles. That would use less sticker on the cab. Regardless, I can't wait to have one. This will be the first UMagnus figure where the missile launchers locate on the side of the trailer just like the cartoon.

UM is still a solid "Must have". It'll be fun detailing that one. Prowl and Sky/Jetfire I can live without though.

Hmm. Not too bad, but considering I recently won a WST Magnus on eBay, I'll pass. Providing it shows up in the mail, of course...

heerotoysmaker (etoyshunter) WST version of Ultra Magnus is very impressive. It is just about perfect in every way, especially if you got the G1 colored version with the stickers. You will not be disappointed :)

One thing though, make note of the sliding switches on the bottom of the trailer that hold the "legs" in place when in robot mode. I didn't notice them at first and the legs were floppy which annoyed me.

Cool, thanks for the tip! I'm definitely looking forward to getting it. :D

Maybe because kids in Japan are more adept at removing tiny toy parts from tiny sprues and assembling tiny toys out of them?

Quit painting American children as being stupid or less intelligent. People making comments like this are helping to add to the stigma that our children are less intelligent.

I guarantee you that there are children here in the US who would crush the competition with their incredible IQs.

The main reasons why we don't have these? Safety laws and no market for them.

It's as simple as that.

Chillax, I wasn't referring to your children.

I don't have kids. I just believe they deserve better.

I've a feeling it's more the latter than the former. Model kits like this are recommended for ages ten and up, which would be right in Hasbro's target audience, but kids these days probably aren't interested in a fragile, limited articulation toy they have to put together.
