Allow me to explain my change of heart on some Third party TF toys.
I'm allowed to change my mind on Third party TF toy purchases. Their is no rule that I have to lock in my answer in a thread and keep it for the remainder of the thread.
Sometimes I want the toy at first. Then as the weeks and months pass by. With newer pics coming in. I rationialize things and change my mind.
Often times my decisions to pass on one or a few toys. Is the result of other newer toys that I like better. With the Third party TF toys costing so much. I need to budget this money. To buy the toys I really like.
Think the reasons I change my mind is due to the price tag on these toys. With the prices being so high. I have to gather my thoughts and budget to decide what I really like then buy. Think it's easier to buy more when the toys cost less at Hasbro's USA retail store prices.
Still haven't bought any of the Third party Dinobots. Was interested the most in Fans Toys versions. But Three things stopped me from buying them. Didn't like the simplistic weird looking face sculpts. Don't like buying G1 Update toys that received next to none persona or generic quickie personas. Don't like buying Third party group toys as Once you buy one you can't resist buying them all to complete the set. My toy budget can never hand spending almost $800 on Third party Dinobots toys.
What stopped me from buying KFC Blaster at the last minute. Didn't like the the big waist plate that prevented the hips from doing a sitting pose and karate kicking high pose. Think that waist plate could have easily been trimmed, seemed like it was big just for cosmetic beauty reasons.
Can maybe understand the no sitting pose if Blaster transformed into a complex vehicle. Where the waist plate was part of the vehicle transformation. Just think it's inexcusable since KFC Blaster transformed into a simplistic rectangular box. looking at the toy, all KFC had to do was trim the lower half of the waist plate to allow a sitting pose. Seems like they didn't out of cosmetic beauty reasons. Either this is bad final QC checks or something else. Example of good final QC checks is what X-T is doing for Apolloyn.
An example where I went back and forth on a toy. First mildly liking it, then really hating it. Then liking it again. Is the DX9 Astrotrain toy. The final colors pics changed my mind in favor of this toy. Also like the Leader class robot height.
With PE Leonidas, I did like the original art sketch and original CAD art for this toy in both modes. Then PE created a revamped design that was less pleasing to me than the first one. As the months passe by, My thoughts kept changing on this toy. What made me finally decide against this toy were the more clearer pics better showing off the sculpted details on this toy. Just don't need my Update toys to look like a fusion between Gundam and Zoids Aesthetics sculpting.
Just because I praise some Third party toys in threads. Does not mean i'm going to be spending over $20,000 per year in buying them all. Thinks it's possible to like and appreciate a TF toy design without the need to buy it. Recent examples of this are those Third party reflectors and perceptors toys being teased. Think the Third party companies are doing great work. But I have no intent on buying any of them. As I don't like robots that transform into weak useless alt modes that can't be used in battles.
