You know when you are listening to Peter Cullen. Some of us have been listening to him as the voice of Optimus Prime from the time we were born. That unique, gravelly timbre unmistakeable. So when NASA released a short video on space exploration with that familiar voice narrating, we decided to share. Although this has nothing to do with Transformers specifically, it would not be hard to imagine this as a trailer or deleted scene from Dark of the Moon. Posted on ReelNASA's youtube channel, which can be found by clicking here, the video has been embedded below, enjoy!

No. It's Peter Cullen's voice. He doesn't have to get into character to do a damn voice over

And therefore it is of absolutely zero interest to us, fans of Transformers?

Anything involving Peter Cullen is newsworthy. It's not uncommon for fansites to keep up with the actors, even when it doesn't involve the specific franchise, especially if it's the main actor. I'm glad this was posted, as I wouldn't have known about it otherwise.

It's refreshing to hear something other than his Optimus Prime voice, because he does have range. And it's great to see him getting work outside of Transformers.

He has such an awesome voice, along with Leonard Nimoy, and I've really gotten to like Hugo Weaving. I'd like to continue hearing them in future Transformers.

Yes, we ARE the explorers... except we have to bum a ride into space from the Russians because the space shuttles have all been mothballed, Mars is off the table, and thousands associated with the space program have lost their jobs. Other than that - we own it!

Well, there's always the Orion project, cuz that will happen.

It's still a little hard for me to tell the difference between Peter Cullen and Don LaFontaine, especially for movie trailers. It's easy now because Don shuffled off his mortal coil years ago.

I don't think that is Mr Cullen's natural speaking voice, he is putting that for effect. It still sounds like Optimus Prime, just when he hasn't got 99 problems to deal with.

If I wasn't at work I would play the whole video.

I think that younger TF fans wont hold Mr Cullen with the same respect as the newer fans as they werent there for G1 the first time round.
