I tried it, it doesn't go well together. The foc is a brownish gray......

I'd be more than surprised if Slag and Sludge are released before the end of the year. Grimlock's not a big priority for me as the Hasbro figure does a half decent job, but if PX were to do it, I wouldn't mind collecting it.

Had no idea how similar the sculpting details of PX FOC Sludge dino mode was to FP G-1 Sludge's dino mode. Guessing the FP Dinobots are a sculpting fusion of the the FOC and G-1 Dinobots designs.

Is that silver knight 2-pack Grimlock? Do the Iron Factory wings match his grey at all?

I'm using silver knight Grimlock as my Classics version, and would love to add the IF parts... but I suspect they're too dark for him.

Yep the grey is darker than silver night grimlocks grey. But it doesnt look that bad if you squint. Im suprised iron factory didnt juice the mold with a version for silver knoght grimlock.

Still waiting for them to "juice the mold" for the Takara version. Since the gray on Takara matches Planet X figures more than the Hasbro (any version) gray.

They really should. But it looks like they moved on to other projects. I would be open to buying that red fireblast Takara Grimlock if Iron Factory would do a set for that color. In reality, whatever Fansproject delivers down the line will end up being my Classics Grimlock. but I want to find an excuse to keep this mold somewhere on my shelves. But it really doesn't work well without the add on sets.

Not liking this as much as Not-Swoop. He looks a bit chibi. Still, the Dinobots are meant to be silly so eh, who cares? He looks pretty good, although I'll wait till they're all out before I buy anything (I get most of my TFs second hand).

cool!

not gonna lie, if i hadent bought PX's swoop, i wouldnt be buying the rest. theyre nice and all, but FP's win in my book. but ive rationalized getting both sets by saying FP's is for my classics display, and PX's are for my FOC display. and their sludge continues to look perfect within that realm.

The torso has an almost animated aesthetic without hips, just a ball joint. Looks like a short fat red ice cream cone with legs. I can expect that from a 15 dollar hasbro figure, but from a 3rd party figure strugling to keep up with fansproject ? Game over planet x. Go do a trypticon before 5 more companies do one while you are napping.

Overall I like it and look forward to adding him to my collection. Wile I like other groups options, I've committed to Planet X and thus I will continue to support them to get my Dinobot team fully assembled.

...Are you seriously discounting the entire figure just because of the hip design?

In any case, I'm pretty sure that's more or less how he looks in the game (or at least from what little of him we see) so...eh?

Not thrilled with these new pictures. It might be because by comparison I like FP's take on the character more. This will likely be something I pick up during a slow month.

I like this better in color than I thought I would.

BUT I still like FP's version more for this character so, for now, I won't be double dipping on him.

My Classics Dinobots are gonna be a mashup of PX, FP and Takara, though. The colors blend well enough together that it works for my shelf.

Also, I think it's funny that ToyWorld's actually seem to be the odd-company out insofar as meshing with other companies' aesthetics. PX & FP seem to go well together, but ToyWorld's is too blocky in a Classics/G1 sense to work. At least to my eye.

Ironically, I like ToyWorld's take so far. My only experience with them has been Hegemon (which I have so little regard for that I sold it... 3 times). Also, because of Renderform's Pax head, I might try to pick up Orion if he exists in this reality at non-inflated prices. So.

When I first got Hegemon, the arms were kinda floppy. And it seemed like just after a few poses, the knees started giving. So I checked, and lo and behold, the teeth in the ratchets were wearing away. So I sold him. Bought another one. Same problem, so sold him... same with the third.

After 3 times, I decided that was it. The mold is awesome. The build & quality? Atrocious. I haven't touched TW's stuff since (partly out of fear, partly because nothing has really appealed to me). But their Dinobots might just get me back in with them. Their quality has reportedly improved significantly; people love those Throttlebots.

I have Takara FoC Grimlock with all the same kit that X has on his.
I really like it! I had all the stuff on the US release, but it works so much better on the Takara version. Ultimately, I think I paid MORE for Grimlock than I would have by just waiting for a 3P version, but it looks great and I'm happy with it.

Personally, I don't like Toyworld's Dinobots. Yes, they are GeeWunny, but not in a good way, if that makes sense? If others like them, more for them I suppose.

I like Hegemon, but I do think he is over-rated. He is the best G1 style gun Megatron we have ever gotten, but not because I think he is all that great, more because the others have been pretty weak. To be fair, the actual mechanics of the character are really, really hard to get right.

I was super impressed with Orion, though.
I thought it would be OK, but in person it was much cooler than I expected.
I have the Pax head on order too. The head is the only weak link in that figure IMO.

yes, seriously those throttlebots are amazing, and super fun. i have grind rod and aurora (both solid and awesome) and hard bone (flaws, but still love him). im trying to find an orion, and plan to get the black version as well.

have you thought about quadruple dipping and trying out the hegemon reissue? not that i want to see you let down again, but maybe they fixed some of those issues?

I had the reissue on order, and then I saw the revised paint scheme, with those grey strips along the front of the legs. >:oP

I cancelled that preorder so fast...

But yea, it's OK. We'll get a new Classics voyager-sized Megatron eventually, right? Right? :-s

Well, there's the new upcoming Leader Megatron from HasTak, so there's that. I mean, granted he turns into a tank, but the gun mode was one of the stupider things from G1 anyway.

I like G1 Megatron just the way he is! He didn't choose to be a gun. He was made that way. ;)

Dunno about you guys, but I feel a whole lot better about Leader Class Megatron knowing he'll have some Leader Class Seekers to hang around with. At least he'll look less out of place.

You going to replace the classics deluxe seekers with the leader ones if they make the whole set? I don't know I'm probably not going to do that. Not that I display them with Season one autobots but they'll look reallyyyyyy outta place if you do decide to do that.

Ugh! That hurts my brain.

I think, if I can get a decent deal on them, I will get the iGear Raptor squadron though. I believe it is finally time to retire my army of deluxe seekers.
