If they died heroically enough, that could "redeem" them in some people's eyes.

You're not sorry. Stop it. You're an instigator and you know it.
You have no right to mock his opinion. You don't have to agree with it, but he's entitled to it without having to be treated in this manner.

no i really am sorry, sorry that fans care mor about continuity than bay
i wasnt laughing at his opinion, just that he thinks the twins ruin the continuity
what about jolt, potentially one of the arcees, barricade in the second movie
none of those were removed because of political correctness were they

Theres been enough bitching about arcee, she didnt make the cut cause she wouldnt fit, and like jolt, wasnt supposed to be in the third film from the get go. it's not like she was in the movie and edited out for some dumb reason. barricade came back in 3 huh? Yeah, and jolt was just a chevy volt product placement, and we were told from the beginning that he didnt make the cut. the twins were bitched out of the film!

First of, i loved the Wreckers. Probabaly my favorite characters in DOTM. I felt there accents were fitting, but am I the only one who thinks they were given the scotish accents so people in no way shape or form could claim they were stereotypical nascar fans?
What gets me is if you don't like the Twins why wouldn't you want to see them get killed? In the book didn't take the hits for Bumble Bee and the other Autobots? (Minus Ironhide of course) At least it would have been an honorable death
Too true. I can't remember which twin died first, but one of them jumped in the path of the blast to save Bumblebee. The other, enraged by this, tackles Sentinel, gets a few good whacks in before, during and after being shot with the barrel in his mouth. He crumbles and Sentinel brushes him away like nothing had happened and continues his rampage.
People hated the twins so much, they didn't want them to have a hero's redemption. They wanted them gone, no matter the cost. Their hatred is out of control.

Yeah, you probably are the only one who thinks that.
The Wreckers had accents that originated from the UK because the Wreckers first appeared in comics from the UK. It was a nod to their history.

I sincerely doubt it was that. I'm guessing it was to keep the bitchers at bay. (No pun intended.)

Why would you doubt it was that? They made a couple nods to the comics, including using the same name their ship had in the comics.

Your not getting my point. Arcee was not planned to be in DOTM. Neither was Jolt. The point is the twins for all intents and purposes were in the 3rd movie. They were filmed in scenes, they were writen in the script and they served a purpose. Then they were removed because political correctness. So in this case i'd put it more on fans about continuity than Bay.

*psst* C'mere...
He does get it, has all along. I still think he was trolling. He got called on the carpet for it and is now trying to back pedal. Don't feed him. He wouldn't have laughed and treated your post as asinine if he was being sincere.
And you're right. They did screw up the continuity and flow of the film by cutting them out. Those scenes involving the hangar when they're supposed to be around are choppy and feel rushed like something was there but now it's not.

The Difference is Arcee was cut out in Pre-Production, she was replaced with Ironhide. The Twins were cut out in Post-Production, they weren't replaced, that's why the hangar scene feels rushed. That's also why there's no explanation for a destroyed smart car, and why there's no explanation for pieces of them lying around when Sentinel betrays.

thats just poor editing
the parts remaing should have been removed in post production
they could have cut around the bits to tighten up th scene

well, poor editing or not, It left a big enough gap in the story to make a seibertronian post a thread that got over 6 pages of feedback about it, proving not only is it a "touchy subject", but enough of you guys actually care enough about it to return to this thread and respond to your posts! the question is, in the future, what can be done to prevent this sort of thing?

what i saying is if the smart car had been removed as it should have been in post production and the pieces also would people have complained
the twins would just have been missing then, like jolt and arcee
Autobot032 wrote: Has it occurred to you that it's possible they did the editing as is, on purpose? Get the fans pissed, get the people talking?
Bay wanted them in. People whined and complained and went on and on and he caved. This is why I hate fandoms for the most part. Chock full o' idiots who know nothing.
The movies were for everyone, in general, and didn't cater to a certain group. Oooh. Big whoop. Whiner babies.

This. 100 times this.
What really erks me is they would have had an honorable death.
Whom ever takes on the next movies is going to do the same thing Bay did. Make them in his/her vision and have it cater to the masses and not the fandom. It will be interesting to see what the next few years holds for TF movies.
