This pic definitely makes it look better, but I think it is a bit of an optical illusion. The front shot has him looking like Grimhammer Barrelchest. That and the Popeye sized arms and unappealing alt mode are still keeping me away.

While the price is a bit steep, it is still a better value than Herc or Giant for the mass of plastic you are getting. But for that kind of scratch there are still too many issues for me.

How come you don't like the red cannon? I've been seeing this a lot, and I guess I don't understand why people are against it. What would you have preferred?

Looking at Omega in the game, his cannon is a bit rust red. The color here is a bit more vibrant than in the game. That could be the result of camera work (Shockwave purple discussion, anyone?) It could also be a throwback to Omega's original colors, which were grey, vibrant yellow, and vibrant red. Man, I'm glad BBTS isn't carrying this, or I'd likely make an impulse purchase and make my wife really mad. I'm lovin' it!

I guess I dont like the red arms because Im in the group of people who use WFC/FOC figures as stand ins for my classics shelf. So naturally I want G1 styled beige arms that are a little less bulky. I repurpose WFC/FOC figures and call it my Golden Age of Cybertron Shelf. I mix them with Alpha Trion, Elita-1, Dion, Sideburn, GDO Lazerbeak in jet mode, etc. I dont play the video games or consider them a real continuity. I just consider them nice digital artwork fom a non-gamer stance.

I gotta disagree. Herc is a combiner made out of 6 awesome individual robots. So you are getting your money's worth of engineering and display options. With Omega you are not. Youre spending almost $400 (with shipping) for a posable statue. I havent heard anyone say anything positive about the alt mode on this thread. Have we even seen the whole alt mode together or just bits and pieces ?

Yeah, but when does anyone ever have anything positive to say about anything these days? No one bothers to wait for the release and in-hand images before tearing into something. It's partially because the developers insist on releasing crummy "teaser" pics that usually create more questions then they answer.

But I agree with you about Herc. With the Constructicons, I'm constantly torn between having them as Devastator or the individuals.

Same here, not that I had him preordered anyway (at least not since BBTS cancelled). I was considering preordering elsewhere if the colors were game-accurate but they're not, so instead I'll wait to see if they do a second release with WfC accurate colors and reconsider it then.

edit: This is what I'm talking about:

*sigh*...well in that case I hope you passed on every WFC figure out there seems none of them have perfect in game accurate colors.

I'm just saying, you guys are jumping all over this thing over teaser shots. Its not like he's green and purple, they got the colors right. Maybe wait till the final pictures come out before tearing it apart.

Then again, I don't give a hoot. I'm probably getting Year of the Snake version.

There is a BIG difference in a little color variation for a $15 figure and a $400 figure.

For fifteen bucks, a missed paint app, or wrong shade isn't going to bother me, for $400 it better be darn near perfect.

I would think this is the kind of feedback a company would be looking for from the teaser shots. If the fansites respond with a common theme of "the colors are wrong, I won't buy it" now is the time for them to correct the issue. If these are just teasers, and they are planning to adjust the final colors etc. it is affecting their preorders.

All that said, I'm probably not the target market for this guy anyway, as I don't play the game and the rest of the official WfC stuff has become so unappealing that I'm probably not getting any more WfC stuff.

Can't speak for everyone else, but colour isn't the "main" reason for "tearing it apart" as you say. I'm not a fan of the current colours, and, while yes they can hopefully change, it is distribution that is my main issue. If BBTS still had this for pre-order I'd have done an impulse buy without a second thought even with not really liking the colours (or the price).

It is a very expensive toy and if the QC is good enough then would be worth the price tag, but the colours on something that pricy need to be right.

Takara's are pretty close, and they don't look like oversized Fisher Price toys ;).

I'm just not feeling this at all. The color photos make me like it even less.

I can see why some people would like a less vibrant version. I look at this and see a nice homage to the G1 toy in the coloring. I wish I had the scratch and was a better painter. Some weathering could go a long way to making this look awesome!

I'm kinda glad BBTS cancelled their preorders on this. I think I'll enjoy YOTS Omega just as much for much less money.

Yep, it's definitely a nice G1 homage, but for me that's a bad thing. He's WfC all the way and I have a WfC/FoC shelf. If I were a better painter I would get him and make him look more weathered and metallic. Maybe the colors are early concepts or something (fingers crossed) or maybe they'll release a second version with more game-accurate paint/coloring.

This, basically. I've got the old Energon Omega and he's a pretty damned good toy. And the alterations made to him for YOTS will be enough for my Neo-G1 shelves.

Plaent X Genesis updated.

Was informed that their colored test type picture is a little too bright due to the flash when photo, and they also will intend to tune down a little bit on red & Yellow closer to its original design instead of G1 color !

Hope we will see the final product color soon :)

I'll have to see it first. I'm not looking for a fill-in for a G1/Classics collection so it will really really need to be toned down to fill a spot on my WfC/FoC shelf. If they pull it off, I probably will end up getting one because the bot and alt modes are perfect.

Now the colours look better in these photos, so not too bad actually?

There is some odd leg/thigh articulation going on in these shots...?

I haven't played with game but am familiar with and generally like the WFC/FOC look. I don't like this design at all though and I definitely wouldn't pay $350 for it.

Looks to be listing in the photos. Is that from the weight of the arms?

So much wasted plastic used to make those huge gorillia arms. They could have used it instead to make the legs a little longer and more bulky. Even FOC fans didnt want a freakin baboon I bet.
