Agreed. Replace the doofy arms with something more proportional, and this could have rocked.

Wow, the new colors look really really good. I'm sorely tempted but I just can't swing the cash right now. I'll have to wait a while, but I think I will get this guy eventually.

If Crazy Devy makes some proper G1 arms, I would buy him.

Actually, these arms look pretty close in proportion to the game. I am sorely tempted by this. Fortunately, the price is too far out there...

I dont follow the game. IThe arms are ape like. I would love to see a classics upgrade to make him more G1 Anime.

You're so silly, you don't want to pay the asking price BUT you want to spend even more than that to get a different set of arms. Look, it's your preference and all, but this is borderline ludicrous.

Also, Giant was right around that price yet smaller than Genesis. So, it seems you're getting a bit more for your money with this piece. However, I'm still not willing to spend $375 on it, either.

This is exactly what I was getting at. This is a replica of WfC Omega. It looks remarkably like it (which is why I'm so tempted). I cannot even fathom anyone creating G1 arms for this as the addition of the G1 arms will need the addition of G1 chest, legs, wings, and possibly a head to make it look G1 at all.

Let me clear things up for you to make it really simple. Money is not an issue for me. But to pay combiner prices on a non-combiner figure, it really needs to be awesome. Wanna make this figure truly awesome ? Change the stupid monkey arms for shorter, more streamlined arms that are proportioned with the body. It's Omega Supreme, not Apeface.

Game accurate or not, I cannot defend something that LOOKS REALLY STUPID. I dont even give a crap about FOC. I would gladly pay Crazy Devy to "fix" him and make him worth combiner prices to me. ;)

Change the arms and you got a "neo" classics Omega. Not exactly G1, but close enough to sit on a classics shelf. :D

Not much energy being spent here. Im at work getting paid as I type this, LOL. I just dont consider FOC a continuity. It's digital artwork at it's best, but thats about all. I mean what happened to WFC ? They changed Optimus for FOC. How many other characters from WFC got changed too ? Figure wise WFC was a 5 character line. And I dont see any WFC fans complaining about WFC not getting enough figures. So why the big stink over FOC ? There was no need for FOC to hijack thew Generations line. It's just a game.

Also 3rd party companies have made a career out of giving other lines the classics treatment with add on kits. So why not one for this ? They did it for Herc...

The games are much more of a continuity than the movies, considering they require much more involvement. Also they're connected to the larger Aligned continuity which encompasses Prime, Rescue Bots, and a couple novels. I'm honestly surprised WFC didn't get more toys, but they're making up for it in Generations Redux. Clearly there is enthusiasm for this figure as it is, with most of the complaints stemming from its high price. And Hercules was always meant to be G1 Devastator, not sure what you're trying to pull there. His vanilla mode is a little different with the tread forearms, but that doesn't make him resemble the other Devastator in the slightest. I get that you want a Classics G1 Omega, but I think you're barking up the wrong tree trying to turn this into one. But that's just my opinion.

I consider a "continuity" to be in the form of a comic story, movie, or cartoon series. Not a video game that can end in many ways depending on the skill and choices of the player. The player can even pick the character he wants to play. How is that a continuity ? It's a game. I guess Super Mario Bros. is a continuity as well if thats the case. It has 3 original parts plus countless offshoots.

My Hercules reference stems off of the original figure (without add ons) is supposed to have an IDW look. But add the Rage set, Crazy Devy G1 Head, Purple Barrel, and the complete reprolabels treatment and you got the G1 Devy that TFC never originally had envisioned.

As you can see here, FOC figures do have potential when properly upgraded. ;)

WfC is a continuity. Or at least part of one; it's set in the Prime continuity. And Super Mario Bros is a continuity too. As is Mortal Kombat and any other game that has a story to it. I don't see why you have to belittle it just because you don't like it.

It's a waste of time hoping someone turns this into a G1 Omega Supreme. It's really nothing like G1 Omega in terms of overall design. You're better off just waiting for something you like to come around.

I just dont consider video games continuities. I consider them blank scripts where the player beats characters of various strengths. No real fiction here, just graphics. And with all these new school game systems that let you pick to be a hero or a villian or play live online with a bunch of strangers, it makes it even less of a continuity and more of a novelty. Now if someone would take the FOC characters and make a comic or cartoon, then we have something. Kind of like what theyre doing with Machine Wars at Botcon. Theyre creating a continuity for a bunch of repaints that never had one. Or take Diaclone for instance, it's not a continuity. It's just a line of toys. Hasbro provided the fiction to give them a continuity. To my knowledge, Hasbro hasnt provided any fiction for WFC/FOC other than character bios and the game itself. it's still just artwork, toys, and a blank script. If Im missed a comic or something, now would be a great time for Sodan-1 to pop up and tell me where I can find WFC/FOC fiction besides the game itself...

On Genesis being converted to classics with an add on kit:

It's all a question of how much aesthetics matter in the eyes of the individual collector...

* He has all the necessary G1 colors more or less in the right places.

* He has the famous G1 turret head and face under the windshield.

* He has the G1 style wings curved outwards.

* He has a claw arm and a blaster arm like G1, just too big and the wrong color.

How much more does he need to be considered "Neo Classics" besides eliminating the Ape Look ? You know some famous customizer is going to do it sooner or later ! Theyll probally paint one as a Sentinal too...You know it cmon now ! ;)

Have you played the games at all? Both of them (particularly FoC) are all about story. At least if you play through the campaign mode.

WFC and FOC are not open world games, they are very linear and have stories that you progress through in a defined order with the freedom to beat up opposing bots on the way to wherever you're going. It's not just a bunch of voice clips and mindless shooting at anything that movies. Yes, there is also online multiplayer where you can either embark on campaigns or just beat each other up, but that's not the focus of the games, the focus is the storyline interwoven into the 10 or more hours of gameplay. This is why video games are recognized as an art form like film, radio, and literature. And yes, there is media outside of the games themselves. The Exodus novel encompasses the timeframe of the games, there's a comic adaptation of WFC, and there's both a prequel and sequel comic to FOC to tie the two games together and tie FOC to Prime, respectively. Additionally there are the toys of the game characters. It is a proper continuity no matter how you slice it. You're welcome to your opinion but I think you should learn a little more about what you're dismissing.

Enough squabbling, I have no interest in this toy, I'm only here because I made some early remarks on it and I never bothered to unsubscribe the topic. Rated X, if you find someone willing to turn this into a Classics style Omega, more power to you. Anybody who's purchasing this, keep us posted about the status of things. I'll stay subscribed because I'm curious to see in-hand pictures.

Im not a gamer. I got nintendo and super nintendo from when I was a kid and play them a few times a year. Once games got to the point they looked so real it was like watching a movie, Id rather just watch a movie. Im old school, pretty much.

I didnt know about the WFC comic. Im not sure how these characters would connect to TF Prime in any way. Trying to link the two sets of characters seems silly. Im not saying it has never been officially done, Im just saying whoever did it was really batting left field. TF Prime is a combination of Animated and Bayformer Aesthetics, while WFC/FOC tends to resemble G1 Anime, especially when it comes to trademark features and paint schemes. The two are better off not blended in my opinion. One is for the kids. The other is for gamers who remember G1.

I guess FOC could be considered a continuity if theres a storyline to watch inbetween levels (hence Ninja Gaiden from my past) But it's still more of a game than anything else.

Interesting thing about games. Some are basically just interactive movies, but some take absolute advantage of their interactive nature to present a story in a way that wouldn't be possible in any other medium. (WFC/FOC are not those games. XD)

Well I know the aesthetics of WFC/FOC and Prime are different, but surely you've heard by now that they're in the same continuity? I mean, people bring it up at every corner. Personally I put the aesthetic differences to different target audiences and development teams, and just presume that we're not seeing the "real" appearances of the characters.

Bottom line, this is a toy of a character who had a pretty important role in a game and it's a shame you couldn't play as him because that would've been awesome.

I would gladly pay Crazy Devy to "fix" him and make him worth combiner prices to me. ;)

I'm taking issue with the term "combiner prices". I believe that size/mass wise, you're getting more for your money with Genesis than Giant (who is the most similarly priced 3P combiner), and of course spending about $100 - 150 less than Hercules (and possibly Uranos and either of the Predaking sets). If money's not an issue with you, wonderful. I'm not asking if you have the money to invest in this or not, I'm looking at economy. Without seeing a video review for Genesis, I can only assume that the transformation isn't as complex as a combiner - which the engineering itself could be considered when accounting for cost.

For what he is supposed to represent, Genesis does the job very well. I'm nervous dropping over $300 at one time for something that had not been independently reviewed and created by a company with no available portfolio, so I'll wait until others have it in hand before making a buying decision... and that's fine for me, since there are other items that I'm more interested in obtaining within the next few months. At least with the previous combiner sets there was a steady buy-in and I could stop early if the set was going in an undesirable direction. Having a customerizer or another company "fix" the figure just seems to be a waste because it'll likely only affect the bot mode and not the alt mode (might even hinder the alt mode but again, I need to see the transformation sequence before passing that judgement). So that may be your only remedy in the foreseeable future, as I don't think HasTak are looking to issue another OS so soon after the YOTD version. And the 3Ps seem to have their hands full with other projects this year.

But the boss battle AGAINST him was a lot of fun (and nerve-wracking).

This toy accomplishes what its creators set out to do, which is make a perfect, fully accurate representation of Omega Supreme as he appeared in the video game Transformers: War for Cybertron.

WfC and FoC could or could not be the precursor to Prime and they could or could not be the precursor to G1. The games' creators deliberately left just enough of the story ambiguous so that it could be taken either way, however they are under the same rules that Tf:Prime and Rescue Bots are from Hasbro, which is that every medium created for Transformers must fit into the Aligned Continuity, which means that, while they do not need to necessarily be part of the same universe/timeline etc. or be directly connected to one another, they MUST adhere to certain specific aspects of the history, characters and major events as dictated by the Aligned Continuity's 'bible'.

This is why in TF:Prime, the characters look so different (even when they flashback to Cybertron, showing things like Bumblebee losing his voicebox etc.) instead of looking like they do in WfC/FoC and why at the same time, Trypticon, when converted into the Nemesis (the ship), looks just like the Nemesis from TF:Prime.

Complain about the differences between this OS and G1 OS all you want, but the fact of the matter is, this is NOT G1 OS, it's WfC OS, that's what it was created to be. It's not a filler for the G1 shelf or the Classics shelf (though you're welcome to alter it/customize it/repurpose it for that if you wish, it's your shelf), but complaining about it is just silly and pointless. The creators decided which version of OS they were creating and they did so, and they did a perfect job of it IMO (even better than Has/Tak did with most of the figures in the WfC/FoC lines).

I'm certain that before long some company (maybe even this same company) will create a 'Classics' style OS, but this isn't it.
