Prologue

The Cybertronian calendar has nearly lost all meaning, save as a means to normalize time between the few remaining pockets of Transformer life. Across the cosmos, these survivors wage an endless cold war. The evil Decepticons seek absolute conquest at any cost. The Heroic Autobots oppose them at every turn, always holding out hope for an eventual and lasting peace.
Here on the planet Earth, two small groups wage a secret battle. One that has been repeated numerous times on many worlds. Sometimes, the Autobots are able to defeat the Decepticons, and preserve the planet. Other times, all that is left when the Decepticons are finished is a dead world.
Only time will tell which fate awaits humanity.
For over twenty years, the only Cybertronian presence on Earth was Soundwave and his Cassetticons. During this time, a permanent Decepticon base was established within Mount Saint Helens. Years were spent gathering intelligence and preparing for the eventual exploitation of Earth’s resources. Four years ago, Decepticon operations began in earnest with the arrival of Starscream and his troops. This caused some friction, as Soundwave and his minions were not fond of the arrogant Air Commander and his mutinous ambitions. The two ranking Decepticons remain in a fragile state of détente to this day.
However, the arrival of the Decepticon forces had not gone unnoticed. A small Autobot scout ship had tailed them to the small blue planet. The ship’s commander, Bumblebee, decided that the presence of Starscream and his Seeker elite warranted more resistance than his Minibot reconnaissance unit was prepared to offer. Calling for aid, he received it in full measure. Optimus Prime dispatched the Ark-19. Led by Prime’s old friend Ironhide, this highly decorated unit arrived to establish infiltration. The Ark itself was submerged in Lake Erie, not far from the mouth of the Detroit River and its eponymous human settlement.
Each faction maintains a space-bound vessel to allow them to teleport from place to place via Orbital Bounce technology. The Decepticons are firmly entrenched and possessed of a significant Intelligence network. As they slowly work towards designs years in the making, the more numerous Autobots must rely on their superior teamwork and willingness to interact with the Humans on their own level. To this date, contact between the factions has remained minimal, with only a few minor skirmishes. However, both sides realize that it is a very small planet, and it is only a matter of time before things escalate.
