PrymeStriker's Touch-Ups & Customs

Hi guys. I'm somewhat new to the world of customizing Transformers (at least with paint, considering the only customizations I've done were on PRiD Starscream, Cliffjumper, and Optimus, each using Red Sharpie), and I thought I'd start my own Touch-Ups & Customs thread. I'll be busy a lot these next weeks customizing as much as I can of my PRiD & AM figures.

LATEST CUSTOM
Figure: PRiD Knock Out
Type: Major Touch-Up
Status: Complete
Details:

Knock Out is finally done after weeks of painting him. Let's start with the 'bot mode. I didn't do a whole lot to him in 'bot mode exclusively aside from the black headcrest, kneecaps, elbow joints, crotchplate, and feet. I was going to do the shoulder-pads, but I didn't care too much about how they looked. I took a very, very thin coat of pearl white to his face, but it's barely noticeable. Any other details really shine in car mode than robot.

I also customized the Energon Prod, which isn't too important, but looks better, no?

Knock Out's car mode is where it's at. I spent the most time on him in this mode. While the doors aren't completely accurate, they look better than my attempt to make them accurate. The rims are all painted in gold, and the door-handles are gold & black. I painted the grill a Silver color, which I made myself using an antique silver color (which is a rather dark, ugly silver) and a pearl white color mixed together. I tinted his windows by painting them all black, which was the result of me painting his rear windshield. I also painted his "license plate area," and the bumper, basing my coloring off of seeing his car mode in "Speed Metal."

What do you guys think? Tell me what I should do next. :)

I knew your latest custom was arcee. I clicked "here" anyway. I have no reason why, I just did.
your a cruel, mindbending individual you.
Nice touch ups BTW.

Thanks a lot. It means a lot. :)

Unfortunately, I didn't pay diddly of attention to the paint I was using, and I didn't use metallic paint on her. It still looks good, but the light doesn't make it shine like the rest of the figure.

But I did make sure I took all that stupid paint back to the hobby store and got metallic. And it payed off with my next custom:

Knock Out!

I took some silver & and sapphire blue to his staff Energon prod, and painted the hubcaps (not the rims. My own personal touch) golden. Tomorrow I plan to paint the door handles golden to make it even more show accurate, and I'll take more pics. But for now:

I accidentally chipped a bit of paint near the place where the staff splits whilst trying to place the staff in his hand. It's probably noticeable. I'm too lazy to fix it. We'll just say...he deflected a small blast from a tiny Autobot and it chipped his paint.

Wait, a staff? I thought Knockout's weapon was a sparkling baton.

Nope, it was an Energon Prod. See?

And I've got more pics of Knock Out:

I want to paint those door-handles golden like the show.

I think I saved myself some money. It was either paint it or go reprolabels. :)

Heh, saving lots of money. $9 bucks to paint something that Reprolabels charges 11 for, and more paint to spare. Not saying Reprolabels sucks, but it's more fun doing Hasbro's job myself. ;) ... |:|

I worked on Knock Out even more (Knock Out, sheesh, I've done more customizing on you than any other figure).

Door-Handle win :)

I'm open to suggestions. What figures should I touch-up, customize, or repaint next? ;)^

I would suggest finishing the touch-ups on Knockout: knees and shins, mostly.

I unfortunately have no red metallic paint quite yet, but I could do his knee pads silver & gold.

Hehe, silver & gold. ;)

I worked on Knock Out's knee-caps & whole rims. I've been spending a lot of time on Knock Out, and I still have to do his shoulders black & red (once I get some red). I'll probably get reprolabels for the licence plate & tail lights and the door decals.

I'm almost done with the "Knock Out Project."

I painted his feet & crotch plate accordingly. I think he looks marvelous, no?

Once he's all done (I just need some Red & White paints), I'll post a full-body picture of him with all of his amazing paint apps.

It's been fun updating everyone, but this will just take up space on the thread that should be left for comments.

If my next project is a WiP, the Main Post will be updated with a preview pic. Once it's done, the Main Post will be updated with all of the pics. So check the main post for all of the latest on my Touch-Ups & Customs

I'm still working on Knock Out. Until then, enjoy this preview pic where Breakdown is detailing Knock Out (Poor Breakdown, KO's detailing bitch  )
