- Motto: "He who hesitates, is lost."
So it was a PSP christmas for me this year. My wife got me the special white Star Wars PSP pack with Darth Vader on the back cover with Renegade Squadron, some video cables so I can watch movies and show pics on the TV with it, and Disgaea Afternoon of Darkness and Silent Hill: Origins.
Star Wars Renegade Squadron is a blast. I'd heard some slightly negative reviews for Battlefront II on the PSP, mainly no single player story mode and graphics and the fact in space battles you couldn't go into ships. They fixed quite a few of the grips with BFII for Renegade Squadron though. Being able to customise your look is great as well as just changing out your weaponry and armor and other stats at any capture point is a great bonus. The graphics aren't overall that much of a leap, as far as the PSP goes I'd say they're almost a step back from what we've gotten before, but the gameplay is fun and the pace is good and fast, just like the Battlefront big console versions. A definite must for any Star Wars fan.
Disgaea is basically the PS2 version dropped onto the handheld with extra stuff. I love it. It's a great little strategy RPG for those who have been under a rock the last few years and it's alot of fun.
Silent Hill: Origins surprised me. I didn't think they'd be able to put the creepiness into a handheld version of Silent Hill, but they did it and did it well. Not too fond of my weapons breaking on me as I use them, but the way you get to the hell dimension of Silent Hill is great. The delays they kept having with this one scared me a bit but it was well worth the wait.
Just thought I'd share a few quick mini-reviews of these in case anyone was thinking about picking them up.
