Question about Optimus's Trailer

Weapon: Star Saber Sword

Is there any kind of back story on Optimus trailer ? Its Cybertronian as it transformed a couple times in dotm so i was just wondering at what poing did Optimus gain his trailer and where it came from im assuming it also had to scan another trailer to fit its form ? Thanks

Weapon: Twin Concussion Blasters

It's not Cybertronian. It was made for him on Earth by NEST. It was never made clear in the movie, but there's some stuff about it in the book. It was intended to be just what it is: a mobile weapons storage which has extra ammo, weapons, blades and the wings.
