Questions concerning TFP Voyagers (Powerizers)

Motto: "Individual freedom above all else."
So I've been contemplating picking up Bulkhead. The figure looks alright, and a couple of video reviews nudged me in the "buy" direction, but I would like to hear from fellow fans on here. Bulkhead: worth the price, and is it a solid figure? By that I mean is he well poseable?

My other question is: recently my Armada Star Saber and Dark Saber found themselves without anyone to hold them. I placed them in the hands of Deluxe Prime and Deluxe Megatron from the 2-pack. But the swords are just too huge. The sword in the series seemed really big in Prime's hands as well, but the toys are just kinda "off." So would it be worth it to buy the Voyager-sized Prime and Megatron just so they could hold the swords from a different series? Or should I just put them in the hands of Armada Jetfire and TFCC Astrotrain?

As for the armada stuff, I feel like the colors would jive really nicely with the two you mentioned.

As for PRiD voyager Bulkhead, it's total ****. It looks ASTOUNDINGLY bad. I literally have NO idea how they got the FE so right, then produced that utter piece of garbage. The altmode is nice, if small, but the bot mode is awful. There's no amount of panel shifting that can make it look halfway decent.

the Mini-Con Sabers (especially the Darksaber) would look pretty nice with the Dark Energon versions of the Voyagers. My TFP Voyager Megs has his Dark Matter Calibur though and that's all the sword any one Transformer needs.
assembling a Neo-G1/TF:TM cast. Please PM if you have (or know of) the following at a reasonable price: Classics or Henkei Astrotrain, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, or 3rd Party iGear Ratchet and Ironhide.
Also looking for Universe Repugnus and Overbite, Frostbite and Longhorn and any Webdiver toys.

Bulkhead is not ****. regardless of what you may hear. And saying so, is just plain rude and offensive. But saying its **** implies anybody who likes it likes ****.

Its not the case, Bulkhead is a good figure. The alt mode is very nice, and the robot mode pretty good. Once you own him you get the feel for the panels, and how to position them, and make him look good.

Image

Yes he's nowhere near as good as FE Bulkhead, but he's still a solid figure. Articulation is decent, ball jointed head, ball jointed shoulders with a lot of room to move and pose, bicep swivel double jointed elbows. Ball jointed hips, swivel thighs, slightly limited in the knees though.

Transformation is satisfying, but his big massive weapon is just well too bulky in either mode, and since it can't stay open its pretty useless in my opinion.

He was very good light piping, and his jaw moves.

I think he's pretty solid bar his weapon. A good substitute if you can't find FE Bulkhead.

As for the sabers, I don't think a sword stand is a good enough reason to get the voyagers, though know that you mention it, I may just pose my voyager Prime with the saber.

For what it's worth, I have spent some time with the figure in hand. And I stand by my opinion that it looks awful. Even my friend who bought it, who would have agreed with you at one time Overcracker, has since come to dislike it.

It's nothing short of disappointing, particularly in the torso. He's just so...THIN and un-bulky, maybe he'd make a better Brawn than the FE mold, but he's not even worth standing as a proper Bulkhead. If you want a decent looking and not FE Bulkhead, do yourself a favor and get the Commander mold, it's worlds better than the PRiD voyager aesthetically.

Sorry Over cracker, but your own pics show how much the Pride Voyager Bulkhead is utter garbage. I honestly would not waste even $1 on a Pride Bulkhead. So if you can't find an FE Bulkhead, then I would suggest buying the cyber verse instead of the Voyager

I like PRID Bulkhead too, one thing I think PRID did better is I personally feel that the head sculpt of it is better than the FE. (I have both)

And really overcracker is just sharing what this mold is to him, you guys do not need to force your ideas on him.. (this thread is asking opinions on PRID Bulkhead, so allow everyone to share theirs while you share yours)

like many of the FE vs RID comparisons, if I hadn't seen FE Bulkhead, then the RID one would look fine to me. I have seen FE Bulkhead though. I do think the RID version of Bulk is a bit better than some of the other RIDs though (Bee and Prime primarily) and if it hadn't been for his weapon I'd have bought it on sight. As it was, Takara nearly got me with their kick ass Micron and painted wheels, but then Hasbro went and announced a reissue of the FEs...and then we started hearing about QC issues causing problems with the arms on that!

Darnit! I just want a nice Bulkhead figure.

Anyone who says Bulkhead is "total ****" is just trying to get a reaction from people. It's not that bad; it's a nice addition to any Prime collection. It's well worth $20.

I really like my PRiD Bulkhead. I don't have the FE, but the PRiD is good enough that I can live without it.

I doubt everyone is "just trying to get a reaction from people"; I've got the FE version and prefer him. To me the PRiD version really does look ****, though I can understand how others might like him.

I'm all for show accuracy, if such a figure exists. I can excuse figures like Knock Out because they don't have a better toy to compare. PRiD Bulkhead doesn't get past the gate, as the FE is much more accurate in terms of molding.

I prefer Takara's paint job on the FE. Bulkhead is a darker green in the cartoon than the US retail toys are. If you can afford it, run after it.

I don't have PRiD Bulk but I've always thought he looked quite good. His fists seem to be at the wrong angle but he's got better shoulder pads and lower legs than FE Bulk, who also has a gap in his belly.

I like Bulkhead. I paid the extra $5 and got the FE of BBTS. I'd buy the RID if the FE wasn't available. I'm indifferent to be honest. We're so far behind in figures here, I'm grateful for anything
