I have the Japanese version (got it at Botcon MISB for $30). I have not been able to see a US version to compare it, but I have been very pleased with the Japanese version.

This is a review of Scourge by Ben Yee over at bwtf.com, he's got both so he states the differences between the two, basically it workes out to a question of which one's more your style since the quality's pretty much the same...
Personally I like Scourge better, though I don't own either...

I got Scourge, definately a great toy. Seems he's a bit harder to get a hold of compared to Black Convoy. Get what you can get, says I.

I prefer Black Convoy.
I don't like all the
symbols on Scourge, the
ones look better.
Plus the sword does not have that idiot child safe round end.

Scourge on the other hand has more of a transparent red on his sword and windows, while Black Convoy has more of a pink color in his sword and windows. Though I think Black Covoy is cheaper because Scourge was more limited.

I liked the pink/orange colors myself.
Yea, Black Convoy cost me $40 mint in the box in 2002.
Scourge is probably alot more......plus I heard Scourge's knees are not so tight though.

I got Scourge a few years ago right at the end of RID. The knees on mine are fine. The only problem I have is right shoulder droops a little in robot mode.
