Still not interested. If all of the other figs on my shelf were their G1 selves then perhaps I'd be interested, but they're not so I'm not.

Classics Bumblebee is still tops for me.

This is 100 times better than any generic Honda dreamed up by Hasbro. I do believe the "new vision" Hasbro tried to create for alt modes was just one big front. They avoid paying licensing fees and new cars are the preferred choice of their target audience...kids. I always felt the Honda was more Cliffjumper anyways. With this new Bumblebee, Cliffjumper will finally be his own mold like the original G1 toys.

Each their own. It's a good figure to be sure; but whatever Hasbro's reasons, the figures are what they are and I'm going to pay a decent amount of money for a figure that breaks the theme. I'd rather a modern take instead of a slavish G1 figure any day.

If they had come up with an original mould then perhaps they could have avoided that massive kibble on the back which juts out way over his head and ruins the figure - I guess this is what happens when you KO a toy and try to shoehorn your 'own' design around it. Hasbro version FTW.

I get your point my friend. Personally I feel this figure was meant to be. Volkswagons anti war stance was one big joke. They cant erase the atrocities of WWII by shunning the Transformers franchise. And another cool thing about this figure is the box. They flat out called it "G1 Bumblebee" instead of making up some stupid name like Hegemon, Survival Specialist, or Warbot Defender. They just jacked the TF franchises posterboy from Hasbro. Thats the kind of boldness I respect. BBTS, TF Source, Robotkingdom are all scared to sell this. What cowards. Big props to Tony ! :D

All they needed to do was wrap the doors around the backs of the feet (didn't the prototype have that?) and put the rear of the car on a slider to drop down that massive hoodie that he has.

Only thing holding me back are the iGear minibots.
If they end up doing a "proper" Bee and Jumper that are more in scale with their other offerings, not the legends reshells, that would make me happiest.

But even so, I'll probably end up getting this at some point, I can always put it with my MPs or something.

I just put my pre-order in. Also picked up a nice litle cardboard box to store my Henkei Bumblebee in. Or maybe Ill stick him with my G1 movie display with Spike and put the G1 verson next to Cliffjumper with my season 1 shelf. Decisions, decisions...

I agree they could have worked a little bit harder to reduce the kibble. But the awesome factor here is that this figure actually exists. Hasbro didnt want this to happen. They told us Bumblebee is either a Honda or Camaro from now on...Deal with it. I told Hasbro Suck it. Now bring on the Glyph repaint that Has/Tak wont give us...

The two different shades of yellow are killing this for me. I wonder if the contrast is as noticeable in person as it is in the photos?

My thoughts as well, even though I know Camera flash will tell you just how different colors are.
It doesn't tell you the degree.

I'm still on the fence.

The yellows don't bother me too much. After seing the size comparisons this is officially on my radar. But there's so much cool **** coming out that it'll just have to wait.

So this little bugger has been pushed back a few weeks then!

I wonder if they are tweaking the colours of just issues with distribution?

Poor old Bumblebee just doesnt seem to have much luck does he? ;)

It does not look like it but I think his vehicle form compensates for it. It looks absolutely amazing.

According to Chimungmung, there's more delays for the release of the figure.

If only he was a smallish Voyager sized, he'd look nice alongside MP Optimus!
Let the shipping commence! ;)

I got mine today too. It's waiting at home for me to crack open after work. Seeing this video on what to do with the arm kibble makes me even more excited. ;)

Good times, a figure you have to take half way apart to make him look decent.

This figure is awesome !!! I dont agree with all the nit-picking going on. The bottom line is Bumblebee doesnt have to be a stupid Honda anymore and Cliffjumper finally gets his own mold instead of just being a repaint. That kicks ass in my book !!!

Heres some pics...

Now this little guy is in hand, seeing him alongside his comrades, hes looking pretty sweet! ;)

I wonder if they will consider doing a re-shell of any of the other minibots, such as Searchlight or Cliffjumper? :-?

The Hasbro version of the mold works quite well for Cliffjumper compared to his G1 alt mode. Id rather see a blue version made as Glyph. Or a green one as Tap Out.
