As I stated above, I am cool with this line having a unified gimick as long as its done well and gives us nice toys out of it (like in Combiner Wars). That being said, if the gimick does take away from the toy, be it aesthetically or in other ways, then thats a different story. Case in point:

I'm hoping that, once TR/TL Galvatron gets into fans' paws, some of our more clever Transformers enthusiasts will figure out a mod to get that face mask to sit a lot closer to the Titan Master head.

Funny you should mention that, because some bloke on 4chan found a way to mod him to eliminate the headmaster gimmick altogether...

As much as I am negative about the headmaster gimmick, I really don't entirely mind this direction that is going on with the toys. I mean the Galvatron, while has some problems like with the gap of the crown and head not coming together tightly, is probably a good or the best representation of the figure. The only exception being 3rd party with "Mania King" or DX9's "Tyrant" that are on the level of MP quality I feel (even though I haven't personally been close to either). The Universe Galvatron is also a pain to transform due to the loose joints and the constant popping off of appendages.

While the headmaster gimmick is kind of silly at least it's not Kiss Players and going that route. That is laughable and all kinds of disturbing all at once. :P

From watching a few reviews on YouTube for the figure I think I might know how to make this happen, but I am curious how this person did it. So if you could share if you know how they did or quote, that would be great.

I don't mind the gimmick, I think it is pretty neat. I know from reading MTMTE that a Cybertronian can live without his head (it's even in an episode of RiD) but I can see what others are saying about having to pop their favorite character's head off. Human interpretations still apply.

(Though my instincts tell me it would be hilarious to swap the heads)

My complaint is this- When the mini figure goes into titan mode and you have to use the mini figure's head as a peg it looks like it would cause stress and rub the paint. It would be really disappointing to break. It would also be kinda upsetting for a kid who snapped the head off of the mini figure that is not made to be re-attached.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4194D97-xiI&feature=youtu.be&t=4m49s

When I watched this video it made me not want to buy the figure. While I really like the colors and the character, I don't want to feel afraid I will snap the poor fella's head off.

I don't own any headmasters, so I don't know if they are all like this. I really hope no because if they are I might pass them up.

Alright, I take that back, obviously there are worse Transformers things than Headmasters. I'd rather have a Headmaster than anything that's been featured on "Plastic Addict", but I really think Headmasters are just an awful idea, especially when they're used for main characters who weren't previously Headmasters as they're apparently planning to with this new "Titans Return" line.

Why would you want a toy of a beloved character whose head you have to pull off in order to transform him? (Exempting the new Powermaster Optimus, because apparently he has enough hollow space that you actually don't have to remove his Headmaster during transformation, thank God) I think the Headmaster Unit in "Animated" really highlighted just how freaking creepy that is. Disregarding the creepiness factor for a while though because, at the end of the day, these are just toys, I thought this fandom hated needless parts-forming. Why do we give a free pass for Headmasters?

Furthermore, if you lose that teeny tiny but all-important Headmaster, you're left with a headless robot. Who the heck wants a headless robot?

I'm sorry, Headmaster fans, you're entitled to your opinion and all, but I just think they're awful and I'm very disappointed in Hasbro for not only including them in the next line but making them the focus and ruining its otherwise perfect-looking new Soundwave and Galvatron for me.

agreed.

I couldn't figure out where to discuss this so I'll lump it in here :

http://www.bleedingcool.com/2016/08/11/ ... hn-warden/

So the thing I keep wondering about John Warden is does he need to go to Transformers boot camp or is he simplifying his statements as he's speaking to more generic press types ?

Like implying Transformers is Takara's property - that is sloppy language use.

Also how can John read anything but the most generic comments about a product line - we do not usually keep conversation about a give product in a single place. if someone reviews a toy comments are usually scarce on that review.

Also take the reviews of the Wave 2 Titan Returns Deluxes - ever single person who reviews them seems to disagree on which figures in that wave are better or worse - so far.

I hope at least he's seeing people say they dislike the rubbery plastic used in inappropriate places.

I love how Bleeding cool had to shoehorn in a diversity comment into a interview about robots - not that is not silly at all.

Is Victorion a Character - really I though she was a plot device.

I still don't know who to blame for that colour scheme the fans for picking it, Hasbro for limiting the voting options in terms of choices and even how you could vote (like forcing people to use facebook on the Titan vote) The colours work great on Rapido - but boy do they look awful on Victorion.
Likely due to the limited amount of accent colours.

Would have saved everyone a lot of trouble if they'd just made her look really girly. with barbie pink and pale purple & light teal. if each robot had been a girly pastel colour that might have worked much better. even a darker purple with teal would have been nice too instead of the Crimson.

---------

If I had to say anything to John i'd say - why didn't you check the tollerances on the titan masters they often just do not fit there are either scary tight or so loose they nearly fall out and they rattle in the socket... that isn't not good design at all. They needed a standard port and a standard head and they just do not have that.

Also when you try to swap the Titanmaster (mini-figures) between the accessory vehicles they just don't fit in many cases. That is just bad design.

I look forward to him getting interviewed so I can see what easily misunderstood statement he will make next.

It's almost as much fun as the Takara Interviews where the so often seem to spend half of the interview criticising Hasbro.

Anyway re : TR Galvatron - has anyone tried bluetack on the back of his helmet to seat it closer to the Titanmaster ?
